Emma Watson
For the “Perks of Being a Wallflower” star, the next two years hold two Sneak Peek Week movies and the next project from one of today’s most exciting directors. Watson will make a cameo appearance in “This Is the End” and have a more substantial role in “The Bling Ring,” both of which will debut never-before-seen clips on MTV this week. Next year, you’ll be able to catch her in the biblical epic, “Noah,” from director Darren Aronofsky, which also features her “Perks” co-star Logan Lerman.

Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence‘s upcoming movies have one of two things in common. In the case of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” some of them are sequels to highly successful first installments, and in the case of “Serena” and the upcoming David O. Russell movie, some star Lawrence’s “Silver Linings Playbook” co-star Bradley Cooper. First up, however, will be “Catching Fire,” which hits theaters this November and will debut its first trailer at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards.

Mila Kunis
Of the handful of projects that Mila Kunis has in various states of completion, one stands above the rest. The “Oz the Great and Powerful” star will play the lead alongside MTV Movie Award nominees Channing Tatum and Eddie Redmayne in the next film from the Wachowskis, “Jupiter Ascending.” The futuristic sci-fi movie casts Kunis as the only hope for humanity.

Rebel Wilson
Like Emma Watson above, Rebel Wilson‘s next movie will play a big part in MTV’s Sneak Peek Week. Her role in Michael Bay’s “Pain and Gain” is sure to crack up the Sneak Peek Week audience when it screens for them later this week. You’ll be able to catch an exclusive clip from “Pain and Gain” during Sneak Peek Week live on MTV this Tuesday (4/9) at 11 p.m. ET.

Will Jennifer Lawrence get her silver lining in the form of a Golden Popcorn? Which beefcake will sizzle in our brand-new Best Shirtless Performance category? It’s up to you to decide the winners of the 2013 MTV Movie Awards! ‘Rush’ International Trailer: Chris Hemsworth Takes The Wheel

Rush International Trailer: Chris Hemsworth Takes The Wheel

The international trailer for Ron Howard‘s Formula 1 racing drama “Rush” shows that the movie is going to star much more than just Chris Hemsworth. This movie is going to put audience members right in the midst of what look like some of the most intense racing scenes to hit the big screen, and it looks like it’s going to do so beautifully.

The newly released video, which can be found after the jump, focuses primarily on the rivalry between Hemsworth’s James Hunt and Daniel Brühl’s Niki Lauda, but it’s the gorgeous cinematography that really captured our attention. It’s clear that Howard wanted to make a movie about Formula 1 racing that made it feel like viewers are a part of that world. Trailers aren’t always indicative of a film’s final product, but this one certainly has us excited.

As the trailer touts, “Rush” is based on a true story. Here is the movie’s plot synopsis, if you couldn’t gather this from the international trailer:

The epic action-drama stars Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers) as the charismatic Englishman James Hunt and Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds) as the disciplined Austrian perfectionist Niki Lauda, whose clashes on the Grand Prix racetrack epitomized the contrast between these two extraordinary characters, a distinction reflected in their private lives.

Set against the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, Rush portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed– handsome English playboy Hunt and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Lauda. Taking us into their personal lives on and off the track, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. If you make one mistake, you die.

“Rush” hits theaters on September 20.

Chris Hemsworth Attached To Michael Mann Mystery Project

Chris Hemsworth Attached To Michael Mann Mystery Project

While Steven Spielberg tries to figure out “Robopocalypse,” his would-be leading man, Chris Hemsworth, may have found a project from another iconic director to keep himself busy.

According to Variety, Hemsworth is attached to a potential Michael Mann project set up at blockbuster-maker Legendary.

There essentially no details about the script other than a vague tip that the film “takes place in a world of cyber threats and attacks,” which doesn’t exactly clear things up. The script does, however, come from writer Morgan Davis Foehl, who’s at work on a screenplay for an upcoming adaptation of the hit video game series “Mass Effect.”

The combination of Legendary, Mann, and Hemsworth hints that whatever this thing is it will be fairly large, so expect to hear a lot more about the project if it comes to fruition.

Joaquin Phoenix Is Your New Robert Downey Jr. In Casting Call

By Hannah Soo Park

Joaquin Phoenix and Paul Thomas Anderson might be the next big actor-director duo, Kate Winslet is eyeing Vernoica Roth’s “Divergent,” Reese Witherspoon might be lining up a Sudan drama, and Chris Hemsworth could be headed to the seas—all in today’s casting call!

Joaquin Phoenix and Paul Thomas Anderson Together Again?
Following their work together on “The Master,” Joaquin Phoenix and Paul Thomas Anderson are looking to team up again for the director’s film adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s “Inherent Vice.” The Hollywood Reporter says that the actor is reportedly in negotiations to star as a private “pot-smoking detective” following a kidnapping case in Los Angeles during the late ’60s and early ’70s. According to previous rumors, Robert Downey Jr. had once been rumored offered the leading role, but ultimately turned it down.

Kate Winslet Shows Interest In YA Territory
Variety has the news that Kate Winslet could be dipping her toes in potential franchise material for the first time, now that she’s rumored to be joining “Divergent.” The movie, based on the YA novel by Veronica Roth and directed by Neil Burger, takes place in Chicago during the dystopian future where citizens, at the age of 16, must choose an ideological “faction” to permanently identify with. Winslet’s role hasn’t been fleshed out, but she’d be joining Shailene Woodley, who’s already been cast as the lead. “Divergent” will play in theaters on March 21, 2014.

Reese Witherspoon In Talks To Tell ‘The Good Lie’
Reese Witherspoon might be joining Philippe Falardeau’s “The Good Lie.” Written by “Boardwalk Empire” writer Margaret Nagle, the based-on-a-true-story film follows a “young refugee of the Sudanese Civil War” who wins a lottery that allows him to move to the U.S. with three other boys. Witherspoon would presumably play the “brash” American woman who’s assigned to help the group.

Chris Hemsworth Might Star In Another Ron Howard Film
Ahoy! Ron Howard already has plenty on movies on his plate right now, but now, the uber-busy director has his sights set on making Nathaniel Philbrick’s “In the Heart of the Sea,” with Chris Hemsworth as his lead. Hemsworth, who worked with Howard on “Rush,” would play a sea captain whose experiences on the waters are said to have inspired Herman Melville’s “Moby Dick.” So there you have it—another potential swashbuckling role for the “Thor” actor’s resume.

‘Red Dawn’: The Reviews Are In!

Don’t be confused by the title; there are no vampires to be found in “Red Dawn.” Instead, director Dan Bradley’s remake of the 1984 action cult classic sees “Avengers” and “Hunger Games” stars (among others) engaged in guerilla warfare against North Korean soldiers on American soil — about as different from “Breaking Dawn” as it possibly gets.

But even though “Red Dawn” has “Thor” actor Chris Hemsworth and the bread-baking Josh Hutcherson on its side, the impressive cast list hasn’t been enough to attract favorable reviews on its own. While some critics have praised the film’s acting and action sequences, many others have skewered “Red Dawn” over plot and script issues, not to mention the controversial decision to change the nationality of the film’s villains in post-production.

Read on for a sample of “Red Dawn” reviews.

All In On Action
“A lot of the movie’s success comes down to the excellent action sequences, and that’s where having a guy like first-time director Dan Bradley — who spent years working as a stunt coordinator and second unit director on a number of big films — pays off. He may not get the best performances from his actors when it counts, but the action scenes are never lacking in excitement, and they account for a large part of ‘Red Dawn.’” — Jason Zingale, Bullz-Eye.com

Better Than The Original?
“It’s not saying much that the new ‘Red Dawn’ is better, but it is. By quite a bit. Where the original’s chilling opening of foreign paratroopers invading Colorado and firing into a school gave way to a nonsensical tale of high school kids absolutely dominating trained soldiers, the makers of the 2012 ‘Red Dawn‘ actually took time to figure out how to make the movie work.” — Matt Pais, Red Eye Chicago

Maybe Not.
“Made in 2009, and then set on a shelf since 2010 as part of the financial woes of original distributor MGM, this remake, directed by stunt veteran Dan Bradley, feels a little too quick and crisp and cool. You know when one of your favorite rock songs gets rewritten and sped up and cleaned up to sell, say, orange juice or dietary supplements? That’s what the new ‘Red Dawn’ feels like: a surface-level photocopy with all of the problems of the first film and none of the accidental, seen-in-the-rearview power.” — James Rocchi, MSN Movies

The “Garbage” Review
“‘Red Dawn’ is one of the rare cases where a movie isn’t just poor, it is inadvisable. It is even, perhaps, irresponsible given the current political climate. The meat of ‘Red Dawn‘ remains free of politics, which is actually a detriment to the story, but it opens with a montage of rock solid xenophobia and saber-rattling against Kim Jong-un, the young new leader of North Korea. It’s almost preposterous enough to elicit laughter. Almost. … This paint-by-numbers picture with false drama and middling action has next to nothing to justify its very existence. ‘Red Dawn,’ on a fundamental level, is garbage.” — Jordan Hoffman, Film.com

The Face-Value Review
“Ultimately, ‘Red Dawn’ is a fun film that knows enough not to try to be anything it’s not. Most of the cast is solid, the action is good, and there’s a nice sprinkling of legitimately funny moments throughout. Thankfully, the high melodrama from the original is toned way down and traded for some quiet heart and emotion. Political stances and statements take a backseat to kids kicking ass allowing the audience to simply set back and enjoy themselves. — Luke Mullen, Film School Rejects

Channing Tatum Named People‘s Sexiest Man Alive

He’s made us laugh. He’s made us swoon. And, he’s made us sweat. And for all of that, “Magic Mike” star Channing Tatum has been named People‘s Sexiest Man Alive for 2012.

The 32-year-old opened up to the celebrity magazine about he found out about the honor, which was bestowed upon Bradley Cooper last year. “My first thought was, ‘Y’all are messing with me,’ ” Tatum says. “I told [my wife] Jenna [Dewan-Tatum] after we’d been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they’d gotten skunked. She was like, ‘What?’ Yeah, she calls me [the Sexiest Man Alive] now.”

The hunky leading man even shares how he’s thought about one day starting a family with his real-life leading lady. “I’m ready; I think she’s ready. The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we’ll see where we go after that,” he explains. “It’s really easy for us guys to say, ‘I want, like, 15 kids.’ Jenna will be like, ‘Well, you better get another wife!’ “

And while it’s hard to believe that the dancer-turned-actor can ever get out of shape, he explains that even he has his fat days. He says, “I like to be lean. If I get too bulky I can’t move well and I like to move,” he says. “When I’m not training, I get really round and soft.”

He had been heavily rumored to be this year’s hottest hottie last week. Other honorees this year include Blake Shelton, Ben Affleck, Chris Hemsworth, “New Girl” star Max Greenfield and Tatum’s “Magic Mike” co-star Matt Bomer, among others.

As it turns out, Tatum isn’t just topping People‘s list. He also happens to be GQ‘s Movie Star of the Year. “They were like: ‘Grind it. If you love it, grind it.’ I did. And a lot of people who didn’t grind it, it’s not that they’re not in a good place, but I’m in a better place,” he tells the magazine, reports Just Jared, of the advice he received from seasoned vets in Hollywood. The GQ issue he appears in also features pop star Rihanna on the cover wearing nothing but a leather jacket.

Watch Chris Hemsworth Get Flirty In Exclusive ‘Red Dawn’ Clip!

After three years of an uncertain fate after the MGM bankruptcy, the remake of “Red Dawn” is just a few weeks away from hitting the big screen. Like its brother-in-arms “The Cabin in the Woods,” “Red Dawn” stars a couple doe-eyed up-and-comers who just may go on to star in “The Hunger Games,” or, in the case of both movies, “The Avengers.”

For a brief sneak peek at the trip back in time to 2009, look no further than this exclusive clip, which just so happens to feature Chris Hemsworth, years before he lead his hair grow out and began summoning thunder.

In the clip, we see Hemsworth as Jed, taking over the role from Patrick Swayze in the original 1984 from director John Milius, encounter Toni, played by “Friday Night Lights” stand-out and “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” star Adrianne Palicki. Jed and Toni briefly reminisce about the times their families used to camp together, an experience that should come in handy when the story of “Red Dawn” gets going.

For those of you unfamiliar with the basic premise of “Red Dawn,” the movie tells the story of a group of teens in small town America that escapes capture and bands together to form a guerilla-style resistance, known to them at the Wolverines, when the United States is invaded by North Korean forces. Jed, as the member of the Wolverines with actual military experience, becomes the leader of the militia as they fight to free their country.

Red Dawn” also stars Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas, and Jeffrey Dean Mrogan, and opens in theaters on November 21.
