‘Love & Hip Hop’ Finale: Joe Budden Breaks Up With Girlfriend For Tahiry
By Sowmya Krishnamurthy
It was the end of “VH1′s Love & Hip Hop NY” as the show aired its season finale Monday night (April 1). Joe Budden returned home from the Dominican Republic to face his angry girlfriend Kaylin. Initially, Joe assuaged her fears that his trip with ex-Tahiry was just a trip but it became clear that Joe wanted more. He finally did what viewers saw coming since the first episode of the season and ditched Kaylin (off camera) for Tahiry.
The two exes share a romantic getaway together that ends (Where else?) in bed. The future is uncertain for the lovebirds but both seem happy back together.
Joe Budden’s Girlfriend Kaylin Garcia Opens Up About Their Relationship
Raqi and Joe Budden extend the olive branch and he encourages her to better herself. She agrees and then starts meditating. Gotta start somewhere…
Consequence and Jen seem to have come to a consensus regarding their family. He’ll help support her as she embarks on her career and she’ll agree to take things slow. What’s in the future for these two? Another baby or wedding bells perhaps. Cons says that he’s putting “family first.”
Rich Dollaz and Erica Mena finally ended their love triangle. After being confronted by Tiffany (Rich’s ex whom she also smashed) at a lipstick launch, Erica goes psycho. She and Tiffany get into a physical throwdown that producers need to break apart.
Enough is enough. Rich tells Erica it’s over and she tearfully walks away from the relationship. She blasts him for setting her up by using Tiffany as bait. “Deception breeds deception!” screams Rich. “Erica is mad, I was sleeping with Tiffany when she was sleeping with Tiffany,” he says. Huh? Once the tornado is gone Rich, Olivia and the rest of his management team rejoice that Erica’s craziness is finally over and they can actually get to making some music. As for Erica, she’s back on her own but she says she’s trying to better herself so that her son can learn from her mistakes.
Meanwhile, Yandy struggles while Mendeecees is locked up indefinitely. He calls her from jail and tells her that he misses their family. Yandy tries to put on a strong front for the kids’ sake, but she’s being put to the test with the uncertainty of Mendeecee’s future. She says that it won’t be easy to hold things down without her man, but she’ll focus on her hustle until he comes home.
Love & Hip Hop: Mendeecees Turns Himself In, Joe Budden And Tahiry Take A Trip
By Sowmya Krishnamurthy
Last night, emotions ran high on VH1##Q##s “Love & Hip Hop NY.” Rich Dollaz sits down with Olivia and his mother who continue to complain about his relationship with Erica. Olivia and Mama Dollaz basically call Erica sleazy for sleeping with Rich##Q##s ex Tiffany. “That##Q##s disgusting” says Olivia. “I think you lost your way,” says Mama Dollaz. Rich denies that he loves Erica and says he was merely using her. Olivia threatens to leave Rich professionally unless he drops Erica.
Based on Joe##Q##s recommendation, Raqi Thunda tries (sort of) to apologize to Tahiry. The mea culpa seems forced and Tahiry rejects it. Raqi, as always, storms away and nothing is resolved with the two. In other unresolved relationships, Joe and Tahiry take a trip to the Dominican Republic to see Tahiry##Q##s father. She has an emotional meeting with him and tells him how his treatment of her mom has affected her trust issues with men. The exes start the trip fighting on the beach but eventually, they sit down and talk about what##Q##s going on. It##Q##s clear that neither has truly moved on from their relationship. Is this unfinished business, and will we see a Joe and Tahiry reunion?
Speaking of poor communication, Jen and Cons##Q## relationship seems to be on shaky footing. She complains that they have issues and stress is negatively affecting her. “I can##Q##t live like that!” she says. Cons says that he##Q##s not in the mood sometimes to deal with their domestic problems because of his issues in the music industry. “I don##Q##t want to lose you but you need to treat me good,” says Jen.
Finally, Yandy and her family go through an emotional episode as Mendeecees is forced to turn himself into authorities for drug charges. Mendeecees tries to hold back tears as he says farewell to his son, not knowing when he##Q##ll be able to come back. Due to the weight of the charges, there##Q##s uncertainty on what exactly will happen to Mendeecees. Yandy takes her man to the courthouse. Though it##Q##s a difficult time, she knows in her heart that their story isn##Q##t over and this is merely a hurdle in the road.
Love & Hip Hop NY: Yandy Gets Engaged, Rich Dollaz Starts A Love Triangle
By Sowmya Krishnamurthy
Monday night (March 18) on VH1##Q##s “Love &Hip-Hop NY”, forgiveness was the common theme. First, Erica tried to mend her relationship with Rich Dollaz. After sitting down with Yandy and later, Mama Dollaz, Erica decided that she had to get her man/manager back by any means. Of course, this meant seducing Rich while wearing little else but a trenchcoat.
Erica apologizes (kind of) and the two reconcile. “At the end of the day, what we have is real and I##Q##m gonna get my man back,” says Erica. Okay, then.
The happy couple may be short-lived. We meet Rich##Q##s ex-girlfriend, Tiffany, who tells Olivia that she hooked up with Erica so she can tell on Erica. Huh? Say what? Yes. Tiffany apparently slept with Erica so she could trap her and keep Rich to herself. “Does Rich have a gold-tip dick?” asks Olivia. Good question!
Elsewhere, Raqi sits down with Ebro of Hot 97 who urges her to apologize to Joe Budden and Consequence. According to Ebro, Raqi has burned way too many bridges and she needs to get herself together if she wants a career in radio. She meets up with Joey to ask for forgiveness. “I think it would be dope to make amends,” says Raqi. She basically says that she needs to prove that she can be friends with Joe for her career. He says he##Q##s down if she apologizes to Tahiry. “Tahiry is a no-go,” says Raqi, but then says that she##Q##ll think about it.
We learned that Tahiry had a tumultuous relationship with her father, who ran out on her at a young age. Tahiry opened up to her mother about how her father##Q##s actions have led to her dating the wrong men. As she plans a trip to her native Dominican Republic, Tahiry wants to meet up with her Dad and talk about their issues. Out of nowhere, Joe Budden shows up and says that he of all people will be joining the trip. Wonder what Kaylin has to say about that?
In the one non-dysfunctional relationship of the episode, Mendeecees decides he##Q##s ready to settle down with Yandy. He takes her to a mansion in New Jersey and asks her if she wants to move in. Yandy hesitates, saying that she wants to be married properly before taking this step. Surprise! Mendy pulls out a ring and gets on one knee to propose. “I##Q##m never gonna leave you,” he says. *Cue tears* and Yandy says “Yes!”
Jay-Z And Beyonce Celebrate 4th Wedding Anniversary
Get More: Beyoncé, Love On Top (Live)
Jay-Z and Beyonce celebrate their 4th anniversary of marriage on April 4, but the powerful couple’s relationship stretches back at least a decade. Both are notoriously tight-lipped about their personal life, but as the reigning king and queen of hip-hop, it’s difficult for fans not to be just a little curious. To ring in the occasion Beyonce will launch a new Tumblr account giving a peek at her personal life. In the meantime take a look back at some of their most public relationship moments from 2002 to 2012.
2002 – On Jay’s seventh album The Blueprint 2: The Gift The Curse, the single “03 Bonnie Clyde” featured vocals from the former Destiny’s Child lead singer. With her group on hiatus, Beyoncé’s inclusion on the song not only marked her turn has a force to be reckoned with but also fueled the rumors that Jay and Bey were an item.
2003 – With Beyoncé prepping to release her solo album debut – which to date has sold 11 Million copies worldwide – the lead single “Dangerously In Love” launched Beyoncé to superstar levels but it was also Jay-Z’s inclusion on the rap portion of the song that had people continually speculating if the song was an exact depiction of their romance or just happenstance.
2004 – At a party for departing Def Jam boss Lyor Cohen, Jay-Z got caught up in the moment apparently and announced his plans to marry Beyoncé. “You’ve been one of the best friends I could have had apart from this woman beside me (Beyoncé), who I love and who I will marry very soon,” said the rapper in a touching moment.
2005 – Still resistant to discuss their relationship in the media, the two stars were paparazzi targets and several photos of their vacations and outings surfaced on tabloids and gossip blogs everywhere. Remaining unusually tight-lipped, they never looked less than happy to be together in the flicks.
2006 – With the release of her second solo album B’Dday, Beyoncé enlisted the services of her beau for the lead single “Déjà Vu” and also on the track “Upgrade U.” That same year, Time magazine named them the Most Powerful Couple in their 100 Most Influential people issue. Beyoncé also appeared on the track “Hollywood” off Jay’s Kingdom Come LP.
2007 – On Jay-Z’s ambitious tenth studio album and his first concept piece American Gangster, he and Beyoncé worked together again on the moody track “Pray” – one of the early standouts on the record.
2008 –On April 4, they made it official. The pair married in Jay-Z’s Tribeca apartment and was reported by US magazine to be a small gathering of their famous pals such as Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, and singer Chris Martin.
2009 – Jay and Bey rang in their 1st wedding anniversary early in 2009, but the couple celebrated another milestone in December when Beyonce threw a star-studded bash for her husband’s 40th birthday. The private event was held in the Dominican Republic where 50 of Jay’s closest friends attended, including Diddy, Kate Hudson, Alex Rodriguez, Kanye West and Alicia Keys.
2010 – During an acceptance speech for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance award at the Grammys, Beyonce made an atypical display of affection, telling the audience, “I’d love to thank my family for all of their support, including my husband. I love you.” The declaration caught Hov off guard, and Bey would later relay that, ”He was shocked! He was just like, ‘What did you say?’ “
2011 – Beyonce had often said that she planned to have a baby at 30 and three years into her marriage with Jay-Z, she followed through on her plan. After giving a stellar performance at the VMAs, Bey unbuttoned her sparkly jacket, rubbed her belly and announced her pregnancy to the entire world.
2012 – At the end of her 2011 VMAs performance Bey revealed that she was already a few months pregnant and when the couple’s first child, Blue Ivy Carter, was born in January 2012 to one of the most influential couples in music, it seemed for a minute like the entertainment industry might implode. Just two days after Blue’s birth Jay released the single “Glory” with a feature from BIC, making his daughter the youngest artist to ever land on the Billboard charts.
