Hugh Jackman Reveals ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ Secret

Come Christmas Day, Hugh Jackman will join the revolution as convict Jean Valjean in the latest theatrical adaptation of Victor Hugo‘s classic novel “Les Miserables,” but when the actor’s finished singing for his supper in 19th-century France, can he be counted on to take up the mutant cause, as well? That’s the question swirling around the superhero fandom after reports surfaced last week that Jackman was in talks to reprise his Wolverine role in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

Original “X-Men” stars Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan have already signed on for the time-traveling sequel, and with the source comic heavily featuring Jackman’s clawed character, the actor’s involvement is of particular interest.

Jackman confirmed to MTV News while at a press event for “Les Miserables” that he has indeed discussed the project with director Bryan Singer.

“Yes, I’ve been talking with Bryan about it,” Jackman said. “I did a very small cameo [in 'First Class']. I said, ‘As long as it’s no longer than three hours [of work] like last time…’ “

Whether Jackman will make a cameo or figure prominently into the events of “Days of Future Past,” remains to be seen.

“I still have not seen the script, so we’re in discussions about [the size of the role],” Jackman continued. “I think things are a little bit in flux and this is my generalized way of saying I’m not going to tell you. Did you buy it? Any of it?”

No, we didn’t, Hugh. And we’re buying your plot synopsis even less:

“Basically, I’m the only character in it,” he joked. “None of the other characters exist. I do talk about them, though. And occasionally you’ll see a [thought] bubble, and there’ll be pictures of Michael Fassbender and different characters. But the entire thing is one-shot singing, of course. Don’t tell anybody that, though. It’s really a secret.”

“X-Men: Days of Future Past,” starring James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult, will hit theaters July 18, 2014.

By Georgette Pierre

Fresh off the release of her fifth studio album, Woman to Woman, Keyshia Cole’s name is in the headlines again but not for what you would expect. Last month, she had to deal with Gucci Mane’s accusation of her dating Diddy and now an explicit photo has leaked online of what some are assuming to be the singer herself giving fellatio.

The California native isn’t one to hold her tongue though and took to her Twitter last night to address the haters. “Evil a$$ haters STAY on some BullShyt! Y’all wish! Lol!” she wrote.

Her fans weren’t backing down either and took  to their Twitter accounts to defend the singer.

Matt Damon ‘Loves’ Lance Armstrong But Still Won’t Play Him Onscreen

The long-delayed, still-untitled Lance Armstrong biopic has definitely hit a few speed bumps during its ride to the big screen, especially now after the news of Armstrong being stripped of his Tour de France titles. Another obstacle the film faces is in finding an actor to play the famous athlete since onetime rumored star Matt Damon is no longer involved with the project.

“I was way too old ten years ago to play him,” Damon joked to MTV News at Monday’s Gotham Awards where he was presented a career tribute award. “No, that ship sailed a while ago because of how old I was. I still think that story is remarkable and I’m sorry for what’s happened, but I have to say he’s done incredible things and he’s given a lot of people a lot of hope, he’s made a hell of an impact on a lot of lives and he raised a ton of money for cancer research. I love the guy.”

Despite the lack of Damon, producer Frank Marshall told us recently that the film is still full steam ahead, though it will now need some tweaks due to the “sad end” to Armstrong’s cycling career. In August, the seven-time Tour de France winner was banned from cycling and stripped of his titles after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency determined Armstrong had used and trafficked drugs during his career.

“Well we’re recutting. It’s a sad end but we have some really interesting footage and a story to tell,” he said. “So we’re going to go forward and tell the story.”

And for those who are sad that Damon is no longer a part of the film, rest assured that the actor is busy with several other projects — the first being “Promised Land,” which he co-wrote with “Office” star John Krasinski and hits theaters December 28. Damon joked that the writing process with Krasinski was “exactly the same” as when he and Ben Affleck wrote their Oscar-winner, “Good Will Hunting.”

“Funnily enough it was exactly the same. I laughed as much with John as I did with Ben,” Damon revealed. “It was just really fun. I would write with him again in a second, or Ben again in a second. It was kind of the same great thing.”

“I’m going bigger and better next time,” Krasinski joked of finding a more high-profile writing partner.

“He just wants to write with Ben,” Damon added with a laugh.

“I just did this to get to Ben,” Krasinski said.

Do you think the Damon/Krasinski team-up will be as epic as “Good Will Hunting”? Leave a comment below!

Beyonce recently posted some new pictures on her Tumblr, revealing brief glimpses of her intimate 31st birthday celebration with Jay and Blue Ivy.

Judging from the pictures, seems like Hov whisked Bey and baby Blue away for a mini yacht vacation, where they enjoyed sailing on the Mediterranean Sea in the South of France complete with a cozy dinner, some wine, strawberries and of course some cake.

The 4 singer is captured cutting into her cake that reads,“Happy Birthday Beyonce, Love Blue + Jay” while sporting her J-embossed varsity sweater. Gathering from the pictures on her Tumblr it seems as if Beyonce wanted nothing more than to be with her two favorite people.

Although she had an intimate birthday celebration, her closest friends and family sent her several well wishes, which are also posted on her site. In February, the superstar mom is set to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show for the firs time. It’s sure to be a can’t-miss event.

Swizz Beatz, Game, And Saigon Set For ‘RapFix Live’

[ video unavailable on this device ]

This Wednesday’s episode of “RapFix Live” will be a monster, with Game, Swizz Beatz and Saigon

On Sunday, Swizz premiered his brand-new video for “Everyday Birthday”featuring Chris Brown and Ludacris. In the clip, each star ends up in a peculiar predicament after a hard night of partying in Cannes, France. You can expect Swizzy to dish on the hilarious video as well as his other ventures in the fashion and art worlds.

Game will be stopping by as well to talk about his upcoming December 11 Jesus Piece album. Last week, the West Coast rap wiz told MTV News that for his next LP, he looks to follow a formula made famous by his mentor Dr. Dre. “The thing about the Jesus Piece is, it’s kinda like a 2012 Chronic album, if you will,” Game said, referring to the large number of guests he plans to showcase on the LP. “I’m on it, and I’m on it a hell of a lot, but I got a lot of features.”

That’s not all: In the lead-up to his album release, the Documentary spitter has been dropping free music every week as a part of his Sunday Service series. His most recent track, “Holy Water,” was released Sunday and finds Game cautioning listeners against putting their faith in material objects. “Sleep outside for days, for a pair of J’s/ Then you sleep outside forever ’cause you got sprayed,” he raps, drawing attention to the violence that erupts when kids camp out for Air Jordans and other expensive kicks.

Saigon is no stranger to street violence either, but rather than glorify it, he has spent the better part of his career trying to reach troubled youth. On Tuesday, he will be dropping his second LP, The Greatest Story Never Told Chapter 2: Bread and Circuses. On Monday (November 5), Giddy dropped the music video for his new single “Blown Away.” The politically charged clip, directed by Nicolas Heller, eulogizes fallen figures like Martin Luther King Jr., Tupac Shakur and Huey P. Newton, adding to theories that they were murdered under dubious circumstances.

With a gang of guests and the latest hip-hop news, this week’s “RapFix Live” is one you won’t want to miss.

Catch Game, Swizz Beatz and Saigon on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET/ 1 p.m. PT on “RapFix Live,” on RapFix.MTV.com, and be sure to join the Twitter conversation using the hashtag #RapFixLive. Send your questions for the artists @MTVRapFix!

‘Taken 2′ Star Liam Neeson Was ‘Wary’ Of Sequel

Given how particular his set of skills is, Bryan Mills isn’t a hero you can just place in any movie. “Taken,” on its own, was enough of a surprise for star Liam Neeson, producer Luc Besson and the rest of the creative minds involved — how on Earth were they going to be able to top themselves in a sequel?

“I was very wary,” Neeson admitted to MTV News about his feelings going into “Taken 2,” his latest action thriller in theaters now. Even though he was also “a little bit excited,” the Irish actor could not imagine a scenario in which a sequel to the first film’s story — in which Neeson’s retired black ops character kills his way across France to find and rescue his kidnapped daughter — would make any kind of sense.

Indeed, even the success of the original “Taken” was unexpected for Neeson. “We knew that we had made a really good, compact, European thriller in the first one, that would have a commercial life of some sort — before disappearing into DVD land,” he said. But thanks to what Neeson described as “an extraordinary PR job” by distributor 20th Century Fox, “Taken” went on to earn over $200 million at the worldwide box office. And now, it’s generated a sequel, one that ultimately made sense to Neeson.

“They came up with a storyline set in Istanbul and I thought it was good,” he said, adding that his co-stars Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace were also on board with the new idea. “I wouldn’t have done it without the two girls.”

But as Neeson has already mentioned, “Taken 2″ appears to be the end for Mills and friends. Well, at least for Mills himself; Neeson sees a way that the films could go forward, just not with him in the lead.

“I think Famke is keen to do a third one, and she could do it very well. Her and Maggie. Maybe they should,” he mused, before joking, “They can call me for advice every now and then!”

Check out everything we’ve got on “Taken 2.”

Usher Postpones Tour To Focus On Kids, ‘Voice’

Just a week after announcing the dates for a 21-stop European Euphoria Tour, Usher announced on Thursday (September 27) that he will be postponing those dates until fall 2013.

The swing in support of Looking 4 Myself was slated to kick off on January 18 with a gig at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, and it included gigs in London, Manchester, Hamburg, Oslo, Paris and Munich and a final show on March 14 in Nice, France.

“The feeling of euphoria that I get when performing for you is indescribable,” Usher wrote in a statement announcing the postponement. “I love each and every one of you and thank you for being there every step of the way. I truly appreciate and am grateful for your support while I take this time to focus on my children and continue to evolve with my fans. Evolve or evaporate.”

The statement elaborated that due to “professional and personal commitments” the singer has been forced to reschedule the European dates, citing his recently announced gig as a judge on “The Voice”
as one of the factors. “To ensure that his fans worldwide are treated to the best possible concert experience, the entire tour will be rescheduled to fall 2013 with dates in both North America and Europe scheduled to run concurrently at that time.”

Usher recently told MTV News that he’s totally pumped to get started on “The Voice” alongside fellow newbie judge Shakira.

“I’m really excited about it,” he said. “It’s the type of show that I feel really sets up an artist and makes it about what matters most first: the voice. Everything else comes afterwards in terms of the mentors; that’s what gives the personality, gives the opportunity to be an artist who will excel and transcend culture and also be able to tell an incredible story in music. So I like being able to be at that place. I love being a mentor.”

‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Final Four Vie For Crown In Finale

Part one of the “So You Think You Can Dance” finale was full of firsts, including three new dance styles never before performed by contestants. Judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy were joined by the Academy Award-nominated Rob Marshall to critique the coveted final four.

Contemporary dancer Tiffany Maher, animator Cyrus “Glitch” Spencer and ballet dancers Eliana Girard and Chehon Wespi-Tschopp beat out thousands of dancers, survived a grueling week of auditions in Vegas, and outlasted their colleagues in the top 20 to be the four finalists. Two will be crowned America’s favorite female and favorite male dancer.

There were so many wonderful moments this episode that it was hard to pack in, but here were our favorites:

It’s An A-A-Animation Take-Over
In a much-anticipated partnership, the show’s sole animator, Spencer, was paired up with a favorite “SYTYCD” alum Stephen “tWitch” Boss in an explosive routine that had the boys freezing, popping, and locking every muscle in their bodies. Choreographer Christopher Scott gets two thumbs up for creating a number with personality and strength, as well as visual appeal. Both “Glitch” and “tWitch” were in their element and kept up with one another. This was a great routine to entice the world to look deeper into this ultra-difficult style.

The Best of ‘All Time’?
Eliana Girard has been on top of her game from day one. Whether it was hip-hop or paso doble, this ballerina has immersed herself in every performance and delivered every single time. Praised for her extensions and grace, she has been a judge and crowd favorite not just because of her technique, but her joyful personality. Last night, she received the best compliment ever given on the show. “Eliana, who I’ve said before is my favorite this year, I’ll now go on to say is my favorite of all time on this series,” executive producer and judge Lythgoe said, causing a wave of gasps in the audience.

Girl Next Door, No More
Out of the four finalists, Tiffany Maher has easily been the underdog. The petite dancer has been underestimated by everyone, including the judges. “I’ve undersold you, sweetheart, there was never anybody as wonderful that lived next door to me,” Lythgoe said. During her package, Maher looked back upon her journey as a real fight — having to fight to get to Vegas, be seen on camera, be different. Despite her struggles, she never found herself in the bottom two or three, and has been cheered for her technique and strength. It was genuinely touching to see this little butterfly finally find her wings.

From the Pole to the Barre
Besides animation, the show also featured pole dancing and ballet for the first time. The two remaining girls took on the pole in a routine that left Girard contorted around the prop and Lythgoe with his hand clasping his forehead. “That was fierce,” Marshall said. From that, Girard and Wespi-Tschopp performed a masterpiece, “The Nutcracker,” as the first two ballet dancers to make it to the “SYTYCD” finale. Their exquisite movements were only elevated when Girard went from a slow quadruple pirouette into an arabesque that left the audience speechless.

Jean Sok from France
Interestingly, one of the highlights of the show didn’t come from a contestant, but rather a guest dancer. French native Jean Sok has become a sensation as a one-legged break dancer. Watching him sent chills down your spine and filled you with a sense of hope, that anything is possible if you have passion and perseverance.

There’s just one week left till America chooses its two favorite dancers. Who do you think should win?
