Azealia Banks Calls A$AP Rocky Gay On Twitter, In Silly Feud

Azealia Banks Calls A$AP Rocky Gay On Twitter, In Silly Feud

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy

Azealia Banks continues her onslaught against fellow Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky, which began over comments made about…lipstick. Today, Azealia took to Twitter to accuse Pretty Flacko of engaging in homosexual relations in the past.

Lol Rocky used to get his d— sucked by this dude named Kenneth in Harlem” she wrote,  along with, “I don’t know why he’s ashamed to just be himself. I mean he wears dresses and gives makeup tips…. Just come out! Be FREEEEEE.”

Rocky’s pal A$AP Nast fired back at Banks, implying she wanted a sexual relationship with him and he refused her. “SHE USED TO COME TO MY CRIBO TRYNNA SMOKE ME OUT AND GET F—ED N I WAS LIKE NAH ! NOT WIT DAT ROCKA WEAR COAT N DEM HANDS MA CAN’T DO IT.” Nast even threw in a shot, telling Azealia that he’d get her rap enemy Iggy Azalea (also A$AP Rocky’s rumored ex) involved. “SHE BETTER NOT MAKE ME CALL IGGY UP LOL”

This week, Azealia fired off at Rocky due to comments he made about dark skinned women and lipstick. “Lol @ asap rockys lipstick advice,” she tweeted, as someone who often rocks bold lipstick. Minutes later, she added, “Some people should just come out of the closet.” When detractors groaned, she asked, “So rocky takes a direct blow to my image about dark skin and purple lipstick, then as soon as I’m a offended …. I’m the bad guy.”

Is Iggy Azalea Rapping About A$AP Rocky On ‘Slo’?

By Muhammad Abdulhafith

Since she stepped on the scene there have been questions surrounding Iggy Azalea’s love life, particularly her relationship with ex flame A$AP Rocky. Well today the modelesque rapper provided some answers—or did she?

On Friday (April 5) Iggy dropped the video for “Slo,” a mid-tempo track where she reminisces about a lost love. In the song Azalea raps about the difficulty in parting ways with an ex and while the song could be about anyone, she does reference someone with a very busy schedule. “We both got our lives so it’s no surprise the schedules conflict and we can’t coincide,” she raps on the track.

Iggy Azalea Drew Inspiration From Australian Comedy For ‘Work’ Video

It was no secret that the two had a thing for each other, Azalea got Rocky’s mixtape title Love.Live.A$AP tattooed on her fingers and in a January 2012 with Vibe admitted that she loved him, but couldn’t quite define their relationship. Things eventually went south and in March Iggy took to Twitter and confirmed that she switched up the finger tats. “FYI. I’ve had that tattoo crossed out for MONTHS. Hop off my nuts. Your late and It shouldn’t be news anyhow,” she wrote.

Neither Rocky nor Iggy have ever really opened up about where they currently stand, but on “Slo” Azaela is definitely heartbroken and creating some pretty curious questions. So when she raps: “Used to be happy but now sh–s unpredictable/ I smiled at the shows but there were tears in the limo though” it makes us wonder just who Iggy is referring too.

Do you think Iggy is rapping about Rocky on “Slo”?

Iggy Azalea initially hoped to drop her debut album The New Classic last year, but in the time that##Q##s elapsed since then, the Australia native got a chance to perfect her sound, resulting in new songs her official first single, “Work.” For the video, she tells MTV News that she drew inspiration from a classic Australian comedy and from OutKast. If there##Q##s one thing A$AP Rocky hates, it##Q##s cute celebrity couple names. Harlem##Q##s pretty boy talked to fashion publication i-D magazine and blasted the idea of celebrity joint names like “KimYe” or “Jayonce.” Per NY Mag, Rocky moaned, “Kimye is the worst sh– I ever heard.”

He explained, “I don##Q##t want to be a part of that. I would prefer to be me and my girl, she does what she does. I don##Q##t want to be the ##Q##couple##Q## thing. When they make the names up, that would make me sick.” He blamed someone like TMZ for thinking up the monikers and added, “That is ridiculous.”

Rocky himself has been connected to a gaggle of famous women romantically including Iggy Azalea and recently, model Chanel Iman. Per the interview, it seems like he##Q##s still single and ready to mingle. “In London recently I fell in love with four girls at the same time. They said, ##Q##We want to share you today.##Q## I was like, ##Q##Really. Is that what you want?##Q## I##Q##m overly confident so it was an acceptable challenge,” he recounted. When asked what attracted him to the overzealous four, he responded, “They were bossy.”

Has A$AP Rocky found his real life “Fashion Killa?” The rapper with a love for all things fashion was spotted last night, during New York Fashion Week, with supermodel Chanel Iman. The attractive pair stopped by fellow A$AP Mob rapper, A$AP Ferg’s, NYC concert at S.O.B.’s.

Around midnight, Rocky and Chanel walked into the packed house. Pretty Flacko hopped on stage to turn up the crowd with tracks like “Kissin Pink” and the buzzy street song “Work.”

Rocky and Chanel’s blossoming relationship has made its way onto social media. Last week, Chanel shared an Instagram photo, hugged up with her rapper while wearing matching Air Jordans. Rocky was unofficially linked to fellow rapper Iggy Azalea last year; she even got his name tattooed on her fingers.

On-screen,  last year A$AP heated things up with Lana Del Rey for her “National Anthem” music video in which they played the President and First Lady. Rocky recently shared that he has a musical crush on Brit singer and MTV Artist to Watch in 2013 Jessie Ware. “I knew about her since last summer … I’m going to work with her. I want to bad. I don’t care about her being a star, I just think she has a beautiful voice and a lot of talent,” A$AP said. “I haven’t got the chance or honor to meet her yet — I just love her art.”

Azealia Banks’ Beefs: A Timeline

Azealia Banks is a firecracker, and that’s putting it lightly. After breaking out with the hit “212″ in 2011, the Harlem MC has been steadily releasing great music as she preps for her upcoming debut, Broke With Expensive Taste,, but the rapper/singer can’t seem to keep the peace. Her current war of words is with fellow female MC Angel Haze — and neither one of them is backing down.

Last summer, Banks told MTV News that even though she’s aware of the way people might view her, she has no intention of changing. “Rap dudes, keep talking sh– and I’ma keep popping sh–” she said matter-of-factly. “I’m just reactive and I say what I have to say and I keep it moving. … It’s not going to change.” With that said, take a look at back her mini-feuds from the past 12 months.

Azealia Banks vs. Kreayshawn

Azealia’s first public spat began almost exactly a year ago today (January 4), when she lambasted Kreayshawn for tweeting a link to her single “212″ which took followers to a pornographic site. Kreayshawn said it was a simple mistake, noting that she was actually “supporting a fellow female,” but it took a few months for the pair to resolve their beef.

In August, Kreayshawn told MTV News that the Harlem native had eventually reached out to her (away from the social media site) to apologize. Since then, they’ve caught a few of each other’s shows since and even mused about collaborating.

Azealia vs. Iggy Azalea vs. T.I.

Unless Azealia steps up to say otherwise, it seems like this dispute began because she didn’t like the fact that Iggy Azalea was featured on XXL‘s 2012 Freshman cover, which Banks did not appear on. But the New Yorker also took offense to Iggy’s verse on the track “Drugs,” because of the Australian’s reference to slavery; they went on to trade some foul words on Twitter.

But when Iggy’s Grand Hustle boss, T.I., questioned Banks’ decision to lash out, well, she lashed out at him too. Tip wasn’t having any of it, though, sending this message: “Get your man to address me, if you got a man, get him to address me and he and I can speak on it.”

Azealia Banks vs. Lil’ Kim

Less than a month after her Grand Hustle beef, Azealia went on the attack against Lil’ Kim over a botched collaboration. The Harlem rapper claimed she ghostwrote a verse for Kim in an effort to push the track forward, but eventually got shut out, and that didn’t sit well with her. Banks accused Kim of having other people write her raps before the Queen Bee‘s assistant eventually responded with a statement saying, “My client and Azealia have never spoke[n] to one another or met at all.”

Azealia Banks vs. Jim Jones

Not even a fellow Harlemite could escape without offending Azealia this year. She got into it with Jim Jones over the origins of “vamping,” which she claimed as her own, while the Diplomats boss tried to point out that he’s been pushing the “Vampire Life” mentality for some time now. Heated words on Twitter weren’t enough to quell this one. Banks decided to take a few shots at Jimmy on the dis track “Succubi.”

Azealia Banks vs. Nicki Minaj

Back in July, Banks turned down a spot on Nicki’s tour in order to record new music. She expressed disappointment at the failed opportunity, but somehow it seemed to turn to negativity. A short time later, Nicki wrote a cryptic hash tag, “#ManTheseBitchesDelirious,” to which Banks responded, “Did you mean… “delusional?” While she aimed that response directly at Minaj, Azealia later added (without the @ symbol that lands messages directly in a user’s mentions): “Use good grammar when insulting others” and “I don’t believe “Rap game” hierarchy ……… Sorry.” That didn’t get too far though.

Azealia Banks vs. Angel Haze

Can’t all of the talented femcees just get along? Banks’ current feud is with up-and-comer Angel Haze, who released her soul-baring Classick mixtape in October. A Twitter war between the two began this week when Angel apparently took offense to a Banks tweet (“Seriously, if you were not born and raised in NY…. DON’T CLAIM NY. YOU ARE NOT A NEW YORKER”), and things only continued to spiral from there.

Angel Haze put things on wax, releasing the dis track “On the Edge,” which was followed by Banks’ retort on “No Problems,” and yet another response from Haze on “Shut the F— Up.”

What do you think of Azealia’s latest Twitter back-and-forth with Angel Haze? Tell us in the comments.

[News] Iggy Azalea Says T.I. Will No Longer Executive Produce Her Debut "The New Classic"

Iggy Azalea reveals that T.I. will no longer executive produce her Interscope debut “The New Classic.”

Last year, it was revealed that Grand Hustle impresario T.I. had signed on to executive produce Iggy Azalea’s impending studio debut The New Classic. Now, in a recent interview with 16Bars.TV, the Australian rapper revealed that T.I. will no longer be working on the album’s production.

Iggy explained that her most recent EP Glory featured all of the tracks that she and T.I. worked on together when he was still serving as her debut’s executive producer. However, upon hearing the EP‘s final product, both artists agreed that Iggy should go in a different direction with her sound.

“[T.I.]‘s actually not [executive producing my album] anymore,” she said. “He was going to be, but originally…all the records that I had on Glory were supposed to be on The New Classic, and he executive produced what ended up being Glory. But as I was making it, I felt like, ‘This isn’t The New Classic; this is something else. It’s not the right sound.’ Not that it sounded bad, but it wasn’t what The New Classic is in my head…[i]t went good, it was an experience, but after, he said and I said it’s better if I just make my own music away [from him] because sometimes being around him, it influences the music I make to be a bit too much of a different sound…[it's] not because I don’t love, because I love him.”
