Jonas Brothers Fan Sues Over Concert Crush

A Los Angeles woman filed suit on Monday in Los Angeles against the Jonas Brothers claiming that she was severely injured during a fan crush at a free show by the brotherly trio in May 2010.

According to E! Online, Ashleigh Johnson claims that she was crushed against a security fence by excited fans at a free afternoon show by the group at Los Angeles‘ The Grove. The suit targeted the brothers’ corporate organization, Jonas Brothers Enterprises, as well as Caruso Management Co., the company that runs the Grove.

Johnson’s suit claims negligence by the venue and the band, claiming that both knew that a large group of people would show up for the gig and that proper security measures were not taken to ensure safety at the outdoor shopping mall. She said she suffered “severe injury to her body and shock to her nervous system” after being crushed against the fence by excited fans, in addition to “great mental … and nervous pain.”
A spokesperson for the group could not be reached for comment at press time.

The Bros were promoting their last studio album at the time, 2009′s Lines, Vines and Trying Times, which they will follow up
this year with an as-yet-untitled effort. They unveiled one new song expected to make the cut at a New York show in October, “Wedding Bells,” and they told MTV News that the new disc will feature all original material performed and written by them.

One Direction Reveal Their Favorite Part Of 2012: Watch Here!

It hasn’t been since NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees first dominated the pop charts more than a decade ago that we’ve seen such a surge of guy group domination — that is until now.

From The Wanted joining forces with Justin Bieber to the Jonas Brothers’ reunion show, it’s safe to say that boy bands are back in a big way. And there’s no question that leading the pack is “X Factor” U.K. alums One Direction.

In 2012, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson took the U.S. (and world) by storm — dropping two #1 albums, selling out Madison Square Garden in 10 minutes, winning three Video Music Awards, and taking the title as MTV’s Best Artist of the Year.

“We’ve had a big year,” Malik told MTV News when accepting MTV‘s year-end award.

And with so many milestones in 2012, the fivesome had a hard time pinpointing just one moment as their favorite.

“I think it’s always a really hard question when we get asked our top moment,” Styles explained. “Madison Square Garden was definitely one of the top things we’ve ever done and will ever do. I think it just topped off an amazing year for us, and it’s just been amazing.”

Another unforgettable accomplishment for 1D was at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. Not only did the guys perform their smash hit “One Thing,” but they took home the Moonman for Most Share-Worthy Video, Best Pop Video and Best New Artist. Plus, how could we forget: Horan snagged a kiss from Katy Perry. “The VMAs [were] unbelievable,” Styles recalled.

On A Halloween-Costume Hunt? Jonas Brothers Tell Us Their Favorites

While there’s still a few days left until Halloween kicks off in all its spooky glory, the Jonas Brothers got their scare on a bit early.

You see, before they headed out on a number of reunion gigs in New York City and around the world, the guys made some time to celebrate the ghoulish day while they were on the West Coast recording tracks for their upcoming studio album.

When MTV News caught up with the trio, they recalled their recent trip to Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights. “We took a break from rehearsals, all lost our voices from screaming so much, went to Universal City in L.A. and it was really scary.”

As it turns out, for a majority of the JoBros, Halloween ranks pretty high on the list of holidays worth celebrating. That is, unless you’re Nick. “I’ve never dressed up for Halloween. I’m not really a big fan, they are,” he confessed, before his brothers quite enthusiastically recalled some of their favorite costumes from the last few years.

“I love getting dressed up for Halloween,” Joe shared. “I was Jack Sparrow; that was fun. I was a birthday cake once. I was the Three Little Pigs… I had friends with me.”

While the guys didn’t reveal whom or what they might be going as this year, as it turns out Joe and Kevin aren’t the only two trick-or-treaters in the Jonas household.

When we talked to baby brother Frankie last year, he revealed what his go-to costume is. “I chose the zombie because I was a zombie for two years in a row … zombies, they’re like the full-on. Everyone loves zombies,” he shared with us. “Zombies are the base of Halloween, ’cause you get dead, you get living and you get creepy.

“I like Chucky, ’cause it’s really, like, no offense to Chucky, but he’s kind of cheesy,” the 12-year-old continued. “But that’s what I like about him. I love old, cheesy horror movies. I love horror movies. My two favorites are probably ‘Sweeney Todd‘ and the original ‘Nightmare on Elm Street.’ “
