Drake Spotted On The Set Of Anchorman 2

“You stay classy, Toronto.” That has a nice ring to it, but there’s no way Drake, who was spotted on the set of “Anchorman: The Legend Continues” on Saturday (May 18) afternoon in New York by the NY Daily News, will be allowed to steal the film’s star Will Ferrell’s signature line for the highly-anticipated sequel.

Dressed in a leather “Members Only” jacket, vintage t-shirt and jeans and topped with a huge afro bookended by ’70′s era sideburns, Drizzy was movie-shoot fresh on the streets of Manhattan, dusting off the acting chops he perfected as a castmember of “Degrassi: The Next Generation.”

Drake Spotted On The Set Of Anchorman 2

The Take Care MC joins fellow rap superstar Kanye West, who was seen on set last week on the movie’s Atlanta set, in the cameo-heavy follow-up to 2004’s surprise hit, “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.”

This is the second time this week that Drake has hopped into the hip-hop time machine. The “Started From the Bottom” rapper wore a vintage Dada outfit on the set of the “No New Friends” video shoot, a move that quickly became a trending topic on Twitter after the behind-the-scenes photograph was released on Instagram.

No word on what Drake’s role in the film will be, but from the looks of the new trailer, this second act looks like it just might live up to the first one.

Kanye West Debuts New Yeezus Track ‘Black Skinhead’ On ‘SNL’

By Rob Markman

“Saturday Night Live” usually reserves their weekly musical guest spot for the biggest and brightest pop stars and last night was no different as Kanye West took the televised stage. The performance was definitely big, but there was nothing bright about Yeezy’s dark and loud performance.

Instead of the super catchy “Gold Digger” or cheery “Good Life,” ’Ye looks to be headed in a deeper direction with the music that will be included on his upcoming album Yeezus.

Shortly after midnight on Sunday morning (May 19) West took the stage in a black leather motorcycle jacket to debut “Black Skinhead,” a punk rock-soaked thump seemingly drawn from Marilyn Manson’s 1996 hit “The Beautiful People.” “SNL” usually isn’t the stage where artists unravel deep messages of racism, but then again West is far from usual.

“What do you say to a masked man? This inglorious bastard that’s rappin?/ We might have to just burn his ish down/ Like the theatre that Hilter was slept in,” Yeezy rapped in time with the constant pound of the drum.

For his second selection the G.O.O.D. Music head rocked “New Slaves,” the racially charged single that he debuted just days earlier on Friday by projecting the song’s video on 66 different locations around the world.

Shortly before “SNL” aired Yeezy’s love Kim Kardashian took to Instagram and posted a photo that appeared to confirm Kanye’s album name, release date and CD packaging. “#Yeezus #RedYeezy’s #SNL #Tonight #NewSlaves #YeezySeason #Donda #June18,” she wrote, captioning a flick of the new red Air Yeezy IIs and the Yeezus album’s packaging.

Kanye West Premieres ‘New Slaves’ On Buildings Worldwide

Leave it to Kanye West to find the most innovative way to premiere his new music video, “New Slaves,” which is likely the first single from his long-awaited follow-up LP to 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Instead of opting for YouTube or MTV for his big reveal, the enigmatic rapper/producer projected the visuals for his latest track on the sides of buildings in 66 locations around the globe.

Yeezy gave his fans little warning prior to the viewing of his “street” single with a message on Twitter directing them to go to his website, KanyeWest.com for viewing times and locations. MTV News was on the scene on the corner of 14th Street and 10th Avenue in New York City’s Meatpacking District, where some 100 fans gathered to get a glimpse of their favorite rapper’s new rap.

The show was an hour late, but when the truck the drove around the city projected the video flashed the black and white image on a matte black wall, all was forgiven as the crowd gasped at ‘Ye’s ingeniously creative product.

The set the tone for somber, yet admonishing song, the G.O.O.D. Music mogul rapped, “My mama was raised in the era when/ Clean water was only served to the fairer skin/ Threw on clothes, you would’ve thought I had help/ But they wasn’t satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself.”

More harrowing was the “All Falls Down” MC’s next verse, which challenged the materialistic habits of hip-hop fans, most notably African-Americans.

“What you want a Bentley, fur coat, a diamond chain/ All you blacks want all the same things,” he rhymed, eyes piercing through the listener.

Attendees cheered the four-minute presentation, which was an appropriate and appetizing salvo for Saturday (May 17) night’s appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” where he’ll undoubtedly perform “New Slaves” and other new material from his upcoming sixth studio album.

Mac Miller Thanks Kanye For Promoting Watching Movies With The Sound Off

Guess Mac Miller knows something we don’t. A couple weeks back Kanye West sent out one of his usual mysterious tweets, simply writing, “June Eighteen,” and while most people assumed that it was likely the release date for a new single, or maybe even the release date for his anticipated sixth solo album–Mac Miller had a different idea.

On Friday morning (May 18) the Pittsburgh MC retweeted Kanye’s original message and added a little note. “@kanyewest: June Eighteen” appreciate u showin support my g. #salute”  Wouldn’t that be a moment in time, if ‘Ye was really tweeting in support of Mac’s sophomore album Watching Movies With The Sound Off, which is currently scheduled to debut on June 18?

It’s wishful thinking, but you’ve gotta appreciate his sense of humor. MTV News recently asked Mac to watch a few movies and narrate them with the sound off. The titles were “The Notebook,” “How High” and “Semi-Pro” and the result was nothing short of comedic. Watch in the video above.

Kanye West Makes A Statement About Pole Incident In ‘SNL’ Promo

Remember that time Kanye West walked into a “Wrong Way” sign and got really pissed about it? Not really at the sign, but at the paparazzi who were trying to get photos of him and Kim Kardashian before, during and after the incident? Well, he probably still despises them, but at least he has a sense of humor about the whole incident. At least that’s the way it seems after watching the new promo clips for “SNL.”

‘Ye is scheduled to perform on the season finale of “Saturday Night Live” while Ben Affleck hosts, and while he made it crystal clear (during his latest rant in NYC) that he had zero intention of appearing in any skits, he seemed to make a statement in a new promo clip by wearing a band-aid on his forehead.

He only wears the band-aid in one out of three takes, but it couldn’t have been an accident, just days after TMZ obtained video footage of him walking straight into a “Wrong Way” sign while trying to avoid the paps and then freaking out. Check out the video above.

Kanye West’s Sixth Album: 2 New Songs Played In Poland

Kanye Wests Sixth Album: 2 New Songs Played In Poland

By Maurice Bobb

Everyone knows that Kanye West is releasing new music soon. The question, then, was where would we hear it first? The biggest mystery in hip-hop was answered Saturday (May 11) at the Free Form Festival in Warsaw, Poland.

Thanks to DJ Hudson Mohawke, who played two new ‘Ye songs between mixes of TNGHT tracks, we got our first taste of what Kanye’s follow up to 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy will sound like.

Based on what festival attendees heard, it’s official: Yeezy season has begun.

The G.O.O.D. Music producer cued up an EDM-inspired track first. On the video, the song comes across as garbled and indecipherable amongst the club noise, but the futuristic pulses comes through, as does the line, “Let me show you right now for you give it up.” This could be the track that the“Cold” rapper crafted around Daft Punk’s drum beats.  ”It was very raw: he was rapping — kind of screaming primally, actually,” they told Rolling Stone of the recording session.

The second song of the night had a little more of a boom bap feel to it, layered over a hard-hitting bass line, with Kim Kardashian’s baby daddy spitting signature narcissistic lines like, “There’s leaders and there’s followers/but I’d rather be a d-ck than a swallower” and “I know that we the new slaves.”

The two sonic morsels will serve as a nice appetizer for fans, who will see the Louis Vuitton Don back in action on “Saturday Night Live” on May 18, where he’ll likely perform more unreleased music from his forthcoming sixth studio album. West has been a fixture in the tabloid headlines of late thanks to his cryptic “June Eighteen” tweet, his impending nuptials, his recent performance at the MET Gala, his upcoming cameo on “Anchorman 2” and his recent run in with a “Wrong Way/severe tire damage” sign while trying to dodge paparazzi.
