‘Glee’ Cast Preview Life Outside McKinley Choir Room

Season three of “Glee” may have ended with some favorite characters graduating, but Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz and Darren Criss are part of the crew who will be sticking around the McKinley High choir room for another school year. The trio caught up with MTV News before their panel during San Diego Comic-Con to talk a little bit about season four.

“It’s definitely a new structure in a way, but it’s still the same old ‘Glee’ because you still have the choir room,” McHale said. “It’s just in addition you’re going to have all the kids who graduated and you’re going to see New York a lot and all that going on.”

According to Ushkowitz, confirmed season four guest stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson will be part of this expansion into New York, where former New Directions standout Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) will be attending the NYADA. Graduation also sent other McKinley alumni setting out to various areas throughout the country.

Despite McHale joking that “we know everything” about the next season, the cast revealed that they had not yet read any scripts for season four.

“We’re just as curious as you are,” Criss said. “We have no idea.”

“We’re excited for the panel because we feel like we’ll learn some stuff there,” Ushkowitz said.

The “Glee” stars said they have used the Internet to get intel on what’ll be happening on their own show before, but Criss said that the cast members “always learn” new things about the show while doing press events. McHale joked about putting pressure on executive producers Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk to answer all the questions at the upcoming panel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter recap of the “Glee” panel at Comic-Con, Brennan and Falchuk did indeed discuss details of season four, such as what life will be like in the new locations for the graduated students, including Rachel in New York, Finn (Cory Monteith) in the Army, and Santana (Naya Rivera) at the University of Louisville, and also some things in store for those staying behind at McKinley. Falchuck also elaborated on Hudson’s role as an instructor at NYADA during the panel, according to THR.

Ushkowitz, McHale and Criss will all be part of the rising senior class for when “Glee” makes its season-four debut on September 13, and there are some high hopes for them as they take their place among the oldest students at McKinley.

“We rule the school,” McHale told MTV News. “Hopefully.”

‘American Idol’ Finalist Jessica Sanchez Headed To ‘Glee’

As if there weren’t already enough excitement surrounding the slightly restructured fourth season of “Glee,” with the characters’ story lines picking up after high school, word on the street is that an “American Idol” finalist will be joining the cast in the fall.

According to TV Line, 16-year-old phenom Jessica Sanchez is in final negotiations to join Rachel, Finn, Mr. Schu and the rest of the “Glee” gang for a multi-episode arc. There is no word on what specific role Sanchez will play, or whether she’ll be part of McKinley High’s National Championship-winning New Directions or will surface in the form of competition at another school.

Because of Sanchez’s previous commitments to the summer “Idol” tour, she won’t be able to appear on the hit series until closer to the halfway mark of season four. If and when Sanchez’s stint on the show is officially announced, the California native will join an illustrious list of famous “Glee” guest stars: Gwyneth Paltrow, Britney Spears, Neil Patrick Harris, Lindsay Lohan and international pop star Charice.

In addition to juggling her responsibilities on the “Idol” tour and the potential gig on “Glee,” the pint-sized powerhouse is also hard at work on her first solo album, which she hopes has more of an urban sound.

“I don’t want people to just hand me music and be like, ‘Here, you sound good on this. Sing it.’ I want to be able to say, ‘This is me,’ ” Sanchez told MTV News recently, adding that she has high hopes for some A-list contributors on the album.

“This is going to seem odd, but I love Eminem, because he has so much conviction and emotion in the way he raps; every word that he raps, you feel it,” she said. “And I think our talents would mesh. So, hopefully, it could happen, and I would just die if he’d collaborate with me!”

‘Glee’ Star Darren Criss Wanted ‘A Little Drama’ In Season Four

Now that the graduating class of McKinley High has said their big goodbye following Tuesday’s season finale, fans might be wondering what will go down in season four. It seems that much of the cast will be dispersing across the country to pursue lives outside of the New Directions, while others stay behind to finish high school.

When MTV News caught up with the cast recently, Lea Michele explained that season four’s “show-within-a-show” format will allow them to expand on the plots already introduced while also allowing new plots to breathe life into the series.

“You basically have the kids who have graduated and their story lines, as well as the kids back in high school,” she said. “I think it’ll be really great because it gives us the opportunity for the characters who have been on the show for a while to move on and to start new story lines, but then the kids who are newer on the show will get to continue on.”

“I think it’ll add more to the show,” Chris Colfer added, noting that with guest stars like Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson signed on to make cameos, fans should expect a lot of “awesomeness.”

So is Michele equally excited by the prospect of chilling with the two fashionable A-listers on set? “They’re the best,” she gushed. “It’s really cool.”

Michele and Colfer are hardly the only two characters returning to “Glee.” Show creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that everyone will be back for more. And, Darren Criss notes, it could mean some drama for Blaine and Kurt. “I think people got hung up on the idea that it’s over, which it’s not at all,” he said. “It’s just another departure point. When you graduated high school it’s not the end of the world.”

“[Blaine]‘s going to be a senior. I’m curious to see where his journey takes him,” Criss added. “Him and Kurt seem to be pretty strong, but Chris [Colfer] and I liked a little drama, so we like things being shook up maybe for more than one episode. So, I don’t know. We’ll see. I’m just happy to be invited to the party.”

‘Glee’ Cast ‘Not Surprised’ By Lindsay Lohan Cameo Drama

On Tuesday night, the long-hyped Lindsay Lohan episode of “Glee” hit the airwaves. Although her appearance was short, it was also full of sweet, self-deprecating humor. The actress, playing herself, was able to make cracks about her contentious public image.

Joking on the show that she’s “in full ‘image re-branding mode’ here, people,” Lohan appeared as a judge at Nationals choir competition in Chicago, where the Gleeks of the New Directions were performing for all the glory. Lohan’s glory may have lasted only two minutes and 46 seconds, but she packed some punches, even taking a shot at “The Voice,” which has been going head-to-head with “Glee” network Fox’s own “American Idol” this season.

“I show up here and there isn’t even a red button I can push and a chair that can spin me around, where I can then point at a kid onstage and say, ‘I want to work with you’? I’m seriously firing my manager.”

Leading up to her cameo, there had been lots of chatter that LaLohan may not have been all that professional about the gig. After being cast on the show in March, rumors began to spread weeks later that the actress was late to set because she had been hitting the party scene right before she had to shoot.

While co-star Perez Hilton (who also played a judge on the episode) skirted around the issue when MTV News caught up with him, the show’s stars Lea Michele and Chris Colfer seemed unaware of the controversy.

Colfer shared that he was “not surprised, unfortunately” to hear that people had been spreading rumors about her, with his pal Michele adding that everything seemed kosher when she was on set.

“I mean, you never really know what’s true and what’s not,” she explained to MTV News at the Fox upfront in New York City this week. “From what we know, she did her stuff and we were busy shooting ours.”

Regardless of what really happened when Lohan appeared on the show, perhaps this line stands as her finest statement about her relationship with the public: “Is there anything better than someone making a comeback?”

The show’s third season finale, “Goodbye,” airs May 22. Season four will kick off this fall with a spankin’-new Britney Spears tribute episode, as well as cameos by Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker.

‘Glee’ Nabs Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Hudson For Guest Spots

Stylish leading ladies Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson have just been announced as the latest A-listers to appear on “Glee.”

While details about their roles and story lines on the Fox hit have yet to be announced, according to the network, Parker will appear in at least one episode, while Hudson has been confirmed for a six-episode arc. The news comes hot on the heels that the show has been moved to Thursday nights, to air on the same night as results shows for either “The X Factor” or “American Idol.”

The show’s season finale is set to air May 22. It includes appearances from Lindsay Lohan and Perez Hilton. The fourth season of the show, set to premiere this fall, will follow the graduating class of McKinley High as they pursue their dreams outside of New Directions.

Many fans have been wondering how the show will press on outside of the high school setting, and with the network expected to hold its upfront presentation in New York on Monday (May 14), those questions should get some answers.

Fox is expected to make a number of announcements at the event. The biggest news expected to come out of the presentation is the announcement that Britney Spears and Demi Lovato have been confirmed to sit at the judges’ table alongside L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell on “X Factor” this fall.

The new Thursday-night block of “Glee” and “X Factor”/ “American Idol
makes sense, given that all of the programs are music-centric. Tuesday nights on the network will now be focused on comedy, with “New Girl
and “Raising Hope” airing that night alongside new shows “Ben and Kate” and “The Mindy Project,” starring Mindy Kaling of “The Office.”

Lindsay Lohan’s ‘Glee’ Cameo: Co-Star Perez Hilton Weighs In!

Celebrity-gossip blogger Perez Hilton guest stars on this week’s big “Nationals” episode of “Glee,” but was uncharacteristically reluctant to address the rumors of fellow guest star Lindsay Lohan‘s alleged on-set misbehavior when MTV News caught up with him at Wango Tango in Los Angeles this weekend.

“I’m on ‘Nationals,’ a very important episode, and Lindsay Lohan is also on this episode,” Hilton told MTV News. “And it’s a nail-biter. Everybody has to watch.”

When the conversation turned to allegations that Lohan was hours late to set and was difficult once she finally arrived, Hilton chose his words very carefully, turning the conversation back to himself — and in so doing, seemed to imply that Lohan was not at her professional best.

Asked about talk of Lohan’s misbehavior, Hilton said, “I showed up to set early and prepared and was very happy to be there and professional, excited and appreciative for the opportunity.”

Rumors of on-set trouble erupted April 25, when actress Dot-Marie Jones, who plays Coach Beiste on the Fox hit, tweeted about an unnamed person’s late arrival to set, causing delays in filming. “Gonna be a long day!! Some ppl show up late and just throw a wrench in things,” Jones reportedly tweeted. “Not cool! I’d rather be an hour early (I was) than 5 minutes late!” Jones’ tweet has since been deleted.

Regarding Lohan’s alleged tardiness, the actress’ rep, Steve Honig, told E! News that there was a mixup with her call time, and said any claims of problems on the “Glee” set are “utter B.S.”

“This is a classic example of people trying to bash Lindsay. She busted her ass yesterday and is back on set again today,” he continued.

Like Hilton, Lohan appears as herself on the episode. The pair play judges at the national singing competition the show’s choir, New Directions, participates in.
