Kristen Stewart Addresses Robert Pattinson Relationship Rumors

With “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2″ set to be released in just over a week, Kristen Stewart has been making the rounds promoting the final installment in the vampire series. While she has been open in discussing her feelings of playing Bella for the last time, there has been one thing she has been very tight-lipped about, and that is her personal life. Until now.

Stewart stopped by the “Today” show on Wednesday (November 7), where co-host Savannah Guthrie asked her the one question fans have been dying to know the answer to: “Are you back together with Robert Pattinson?”

Maybe taken a bit off guard, Stewart was ever the professional answering, “Funny you should mention that,” before pausing to gather her thoughts.

“I’m just going to let people watch whatever little movie they would like to think our lives are, and ‘keep them guessing,’ I always say,” Stewart said.

This is the first time Stewart has addressed her relationship with Pattinson since she issued a public apology after photos surfaced of the “Twilight” actress having an affair with her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders back in July.

“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected,” she said in her apology. “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”

Stewart and Pattinson, whose characters are in the final four in MTV News’ Twi-Fight Saga, first met on the set of “Twilight” back in 2008 and almost immediately, rumors of a romance began to swirl, with neither one of them publicly confirming the relationship until the scandal broke.

Last week, Pattinson and Stewart reunited during “MTV First: Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” where Pattinson and Stewart both discussed what it’s like to finally say goodbye to the “Twilight” franchise.

“The actual end end for me felt like the end. In the Caribbean and stuff, on the beach and the sun was actually rising as we were finishing, so it’s quite definitive,” Pattinson said.

David Fincher’s ‘Halo 4′ Trailer Explains Master Chief’s Backstory

David Finchers Halo 4 Trailer Explains Master Chiefs Backstory

David Fincher is getting some serious love from the video game community following the launch of his epic “Halo 4″ trailer, “Scanned,” which debuted last night on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”

Longtime fans of the “Halo” franchise will have a lot more to chew on here than newcomers. This trailer details the backstory of Master Chief, whose actual name is John. We see everything from his childhood on Eridanus II to him being kidnapped in the middle of the night and being swapped with a cheap clone to the augmentation surgery that results in him having superhuman strength and speed. The trailer then ends with Chief facing off against the new, “ancient” enemies, known as the Prometheans, that fans will meet in “Halo 4.”

It’s interesting that 343 Industries decided to tease “Halo 4″ with the backstory of its iconic main character, since it hasn’t been touched on in any previous games. This isn’t the first time the tie-in marketing for “Halo 4″ is looking back, as the “Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn” live action webseries is examining the backstory of another character from the game, Thomas Lasky.

Fincher either is a big “Halo” geek or had some serious help for this trailer, considering it’s one of the most in-depth looks at the series’ mythology that we’ve seen recreated by Microsoft. It looks great, too, though we can’t help but have a soft spot for the gorgeous “Halo 3” and “Halo 3: ODST” commercials that “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders created.

“Halo 4″ hits store shelves on November 6.

What did you think of Fincher’s take on the “Halo” universe? Tell us in the comments section below or on Twitter!

Kristen Stewart Says She And Robert Pattinson Will Be ‘Fine’

With the upcoming press tour for the final “Twilight” film about to rev up, Twihards have been wondering if things might get a bit awkward between estranged stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Both leads in “Breaking Dawn — Part 2″ will be hitting the road to promote the film, which hits screens on November 16.

Since the pair split in July following the revelation that Stewart had an affair with her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders, questions have swirled about potential tension on the upcoming promotional tour.

“We’re going to be fine,” Stewart told the Associated Press over the weekend about how she Pattinson will feel when they see each other again. “We’re totally fine.”

Speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival in support of her starring role in the adaptation of Jack Kerouac‘s iconic Beat road novel “On the Road,” Stewart, 22, made her first public appearance since the scandal broke.

The notoriously press-shy actress said she was excited to finally be talking about “Road,” which is slated for release in December. “We have been waiting for this thing to be unleashed for so long. It was sort of one of those situations where you just have to put yourself in your body and go appreciate the moment,” she said. “You expect a lot of people at a ‘Twilight’ premiere, but showing up at an ‘On the Road’ Toronto film festival screening and seeing that amount of people is absolutely, disarmingly amazing.”

VMAs Host Kevin Hart Makes ‘Mistakes’ In Opening Monologue

Everybody makes mistakes. Kanye West, Britney Spears, Madonna — even 2012 MTV Video Music Awards host Kevin Hart.

That’s the message Hart wanted to make clear during his opening monologue at the VMAs this year. Before speaking to the assembled crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Hart sauntered up to the stage with so much fanfare that one would think he was actually meant to attend the Democratic National Convention. The confusion wasn’t helped by Hart’s entourage of secret service agents comprised purely of little people.

“I don’t know if MTV made a mistake. I told MTV that I was going to need a little security. I think they took it a little literally,” he cracked once reaching the stage. “But that’s okay. Those guys did a good job!”

As it turned out, Hart had mistakes on the mind. From the comedian’s perspective, many of the artists and celebrities attending the 2012 VMAs were guilty of mistakes of their own — chief among them Drake and Chris Brown, who were on dueling sides of a bar brawl in June. Hart, a self-declared friend of both men, attempted to use the VMAs as a platform to take the blown-out-of-proportion beef and “nip it in the bud.” From his perspective, Drake wasn’t trying to throw a bottle at Brown; instead, he was living up to his Canadian roots and trying to recycle the bottle, Hart quipped.

“Drake is from Canada. Drake loves to recycle. Drake thought that there was a recycle bin in Chris’ section. He threw the bottle. Chris didn’t see it, because he was dancing,” joked Hart. “When he whipped his head up, he got hit with the bottle. Drake was like, ‘My bad, the bin!’ Chris was like, ‘You called me a b—-?’ And Drake was like, ‘No! The bin!‘ That fight was over a mistake!”

Hart moved on and set his sights on Frank Ocean, targeting the Odd Future artist’s recent decision to speak out about his previous relationship with a man. According to Hart’s account of the situation, Ocean accidentally outted himself by singing “I’ve been thinking about you, Leroy” instead of “Lisa” during a recording session, leading him to the decision to publicly address his fans about his romantic past.

“Not everybody can do that, but Frank Ocean did. And for that, I commend you, Frank,” said Hart to uproarious applause. “I salute you, sir.”

Next on Hart’s list was “Jersey Shore” star Snooki and her newborn baby Lorenzo. To the surprise of all, it wasn’t Snooki that Hart pinned mistakes on, but her fiancé, Jionni LaValle. “The baby daddy thought he was going to get a little nookie from Snooki,” he said. “Now he’s sitting at home thinking, ‘What the f—?’”

“Most importantly, congratulations, you’re a new mother,” Hart said to Snooki, who was absent from the VMAs. “That’s from me to you.”

The real elephant in the room wasn’t Snooki, but “Twilight” actress Kristen Stewart, according to the host. Hart addressed Stewart’s alleged affair with “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders, saying, “If she did [have an affair], so what? It’s over. Move on!”

“The point I’m making is this: if you’ve made a mistake, so what?” Hart asked the audience, before launching into a series of swears that were instantly bleeped upon leaving his mouth. “I’m going to make mistakes [tonight]. You know why? Because people here have made mistakes before.”

With a few extra jabs tossed out at Kanye, Britney Spears, Madonna and more just for good measure, Hart and his care-free attitude jumped straight off the stage and into the crowd, held up by the very people who would surely witness a few more mistakes before the night’s end.

Kristen Stewart Explains Why She Gets So ‘Clumsy’ In Spotlight

Kristen Stewart covers October’s British Vogue, and the star is once again opening up about her philosophies about celebrity life and why she doesn’t “get off” on her fame.

“I know that if you haven’t thought about how you want to present a very packaged idea of yourself then it can seem like you lack ambition. But, dude, honestly? I can’t,” Stewart says in the issue, which hits newsstands Friday.

“People expect it to be easy because there you are, out there, doing the thing that you want and making lots of money out of it. But, you know, I’m not that smooth. I can get clumsy around certain people,” she added. “Like, if I were to sit down and think, ‘OK, I’m really famous, how am I going to conduct myself in public?’ I wouldn’t know who that person would be! It would be a lot easier if I could, but I can’t.”

With such a spotlight put on her personal life, especially over the course of this summer after she was photographed kissing her “Snow White” director Rupert Sanders, the actress likens her feelings about being on the A-list to the ones held by the Beat Generation, as seen in her next release, “On the Road” based on Jack Kerouac‘s novel.

“There is always going to be that seam of people who want things differently to the standardized version,” she explains to the magazine. “It’s not necessarily a rebellious thing, it’s just who they are. That world back then, it just seems freer to me than anything I could ever touch and I’m fully nostalgic for it, even though I wasn’t even alive then… It’s the loyalty aspect of it all. I love being on the periphery with a group of people who have the same values that I do. People who don’t get off on fame, who just like the process of making movies and thrive.”

In the film, she plays the free-spirited Marylou, the teenage wife of Garrett Hedlund’s Dean Moriarty. Speaking to MTV News earlier this year about having to appear nude in the film, the actress admitted that it hardly crossed her mind to get hung up about exposing that much of herself on screen.

“I wasn’t scared, honestly,” Stewart said. “It’s kind of insane to watch now. I’m like, ‘Who is that?’ But I think — as every actress says when they do this is — it just felt so right. It was so within a different world and so within a different environment that I don’t even really feel — I mean, I am personally connected to it, of course — but it is something outside of myself.”

Kristen Stewart Not Dropped From ‘Snow White’ Sequel

Reports of Kristen Stewart being dropped from a proposed “Snow White and the Huntsman” sequel have been greatly exaggerated.

Universal co-chair Donna Langley issued a statement to MTV News on Wednesday (August 15) confirming that no such action had been taken. “We are extremely proud of ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ and we’re currently exploring all options to continue the franchise,” she said. “Any reports that Kristen Stewart has been dropped are false.”

The statement follows a story published Tuesday by The Hollywood Reporter, which intimated that the fairy-tale film’s follow-up would be reconceived as a spin-off, focusing largely on the Huntsman character played by Chris Hemsworth. Though the trade magazine made mention of Stewart’s affair with “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders, the report also noted that “it is not clear why the decision to move forward without Stewart was made.”

It is not known whether Sanders will return to direct the sequel.

The first film, co-starring Charlize Theron and Sam Claflin, has grossed $389.28 million worldwide.

When MTV News caught up with Stewart in May for “MTV First: Snow White and the Huntsman,” the actress made it clear that portraying the titular princess stuck a nerve.

“She’s got very little life experience. She feels such strong things and can’t say exactly why she feels those things, and I can completely relate to that,” Stewart said. “I was excited to see the growth of this person. She’s such a child in the beginning and has such a strong sense of self in a way that isn’t normal. It’s almost supernatural. She’s got this connection to the earth and to her people that makes her so empathetic. She’s truly bleeding for other people. It’s something I want to get to, if I can.”

Kristen Stewart Defended By Jodie Foster

It’s every tabloid editors’ dream come true: secret snapshots of a Hollywood It Girl canoodling with a man who is not her equally famous and fawned-over boyfriend.

Fantasy became reality last month when images of Kristen Stewart kissing her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders materialized, appearing online and in the pages of Us Weekly. And though both issued public apologies following the indiscretion, Stewart has since retreated from the public amid a barrage of tawdry headlines and rampant speculation about her future with “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson.

Few understand the fishbowl of fame and fortune quite like Stewart’s “Panic Room” co-star Jodie Foster, who began her acting career at the tender age of 3. The Oscar winner penned an impassioned essay for The Daily Beast, defending young stars in general and Stewart specifically.

When MTV News caught up with Foster at the 2012 Movie Awards, she had nothing but praise for Stewart, saying, “I’m just so proud to see what an amazing lady she’s turned into.”

“In 2001, I spent 5 months with Kristen Stewart on the set of ‘Panic Room‘ mostly holed up in a space the size of a Manhattan closet,” Foster wrote in the essay. “We talked and laughed for hours, sharing spontaneous mysteries and venting our boredom. I grew to love that kid. She turned 11 during our shoot and on her birthday I organized a mariachi band to serenade her at the taco bar while she blew out her candles. She begrudgingly danced around a sombrero with me but soon rushed off to a basketball game with the grip and electric departments.”

Foster went on to recall a conversation with Stewart’s mother in which she wondered whether Stewart could be dissuaded from the oft-fickle acting profession. Clearly, she couldn’t.

The 49-year-old admits freely, however, that if she had grown up in the age of the 24/7 news cycle, she surely wouldn’t have lasted long.

“I’ve said it before and I will say it again: if I were a young actor today I would quit before I started,” she wrote. “If I had to grow up in this media culture, I don’t think I could survive it emotionally. I would only hope that someone who loved me, really loved me, would put their arm around me and lead me away to safety.”

And, perhaps, it is now Foster who puts her arm around Stewart, leading her to a safer place — at least metaphorically — offering these final words:

“My mother had a saying that she doled out after every small injustice, every heartbreak, every moment of abject suffering. ‘This too shall pass.’ God, I hated that phrase. It always seemed so banal and out of touch, like she was telling me my pain was irrelevant. Now it just seems quaint, but oddly true … Eventually this all passes. The public horrors of today eventually blow away. And, yes, you are changed by the awful wake of reckoning they leave behind. You trust less. You calculate your steps. You survive. Hopefully in the process you don’t lose your ability to throw your arms in the air again and spin in wild abandon. That is the ultimate F.U. and — finally — the most beautiful survival tool of all. Don’t let them take that away from you.”

Kristen Stewart Dropped From ‘Snow White’ Sequel?

The fall-out from the scandal involving “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart and her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders has mostly been personal up until this point.

But after reports surfaced earlier this week that Stewart had been dropped from a planned sequel to “Snow White,” the studio behind the picture, Universal, weighed in on Tuesday and said the actress may still appear in the follow-up.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Universal has insisted that plans for a second film focusing on Chris Hemsworth’s Huntsman character and Stewart’s Snow White are proceeding apace.

Both Stewart, 22, and married father of two Sanders, 41, issued public apologies
last month after pictures surfaced of the two kissing in public.

Universal said it has yet to settle on a writer or director for the second Huntsman movie, though first-time feature filmmaker Sanders is still on the list of possible candidates.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Hollywood Reporter touted an exclusive story claiming that Universal had decided to shelve plans for a “Snow White” sequel and instead focus on a solo Huntsman spin-off movie starring Hemsworth that would not involve the actress.

The trade magazine noted that it’s unusual for studios to drop major stars of franchises between the first and second installments of film series, especially since Universal’s original plan was to make two films with the Snow White character and then a third that would spin-off the Huntsman.

A spokesperson for Stewart could not be reached for comment at press time, while a Universal spokesperson told MTV News, “the studio is exploring options to continue the franchise and no decisions have been made.”

While it’s unclear if she’ll double-down on Snow White, Stewart did drop out of the Nick Cassavetes film “Cali” in the wake of the scandal, while her spurned ex, Robert Pattinson,
snagged a new gig on Tuesday when it was announced that he would star opposite Naomi Watts in Werner Herzog‘s literary biopic “Queen of the Desert.”

Robert Pattinson Is All Smiles On ‘Daily Show’ After Kristen Stewart Scandal

Never underestimate the healing power of a pint of ice cream.

For Robert Pattinson‘s first television appearance since girlfriend Kristen Stewart admitted to and publicly apologized for her “indiscretion” with “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders, “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart presented the actor with a carton of Ben Jerry’s and the calming reassurance that “we’re just a couple of gals talking.”

Pattinson, sporting stubble and a sharply tailored blue suit, laughed and seemed in good spirits despite the media attention that has followed him and his “Twilight” co-star since the incident came to light last month. However, the actor did decline the treat, joking, “I’m going to split my Spanx. I’m double-Spanxed.”

And though Pattinson didn’t speak about Stewart directly, he did acknowledge the rather prickly situation he’s found himself in. “My biggest problem in my life is that I’m cheap, and I didn’t hire a publicist,” he said. “I’m going to hire a publicist.”

While the playful back-and-forth between Pattinson and Stewart centered largely around his recent heartbreak, talk did eventually turn to Pattinson’s upcoming movie “Cosmopolis,” which he was there to support.

“Trying to explain what the movie is about is physically impossible,” Pattinson said of the film based on Don DeLillo’s novel and directed by David Cronenberg. “It’s a very kind of eccentric — it’s one of the only things I’ll ever do where I can say I don’t think this will ever be made again, or it hasn’t been made before. Regardless of how people see it, at least it’s something new.”

Pattinson ended his segment with a challenge for the “Twilight” fans watching.

“If any ‘Twilight’ fans have tuned in, I genuinely want to make ‘Cosmopolis’ have a higher opening weekend than ‘The Dark Knight [Rises],’ ” he said. “But the problem is, it’s only opening in six cinemas. It’s going to be a challenge. … Just buy, like, eight tickets.”

“Cosmopolis” opens in New York and Los Angeles on Friday and goes wide August 24.

Pattinson is set to make several more appearances in support of “Cosmopolis,” including a stop at MTV on Thursday, August 16, where he’ll debut an exclusive clip from the film, followed by a 30-minute interview with Josh Horowitz on MTV.com. It all starts at 7:49 p.m. ET on MTV. Tweet your questions to @mtvnews using the hashtag #AskRob.

Don’t forget to tune in to MTV First: Robert Pattinson on MTV and MTV.com at 7:49 p.m. ET. on Thursday, August 16, to hear everything Pattinson has to say about making the film and see an exclusive “Cosmopolis” clip!
