Exclusive: ‘That’s My Boy’ Hits Shelves October 16

Here’s a story, and it’s true: Adam Sandler fathered Han Solo. Don’t believe us? Just watch “That’s My Boy” and you’ll know we’re telling you the truth — a bit of an exaggerated truth, perhaps, but the truth all the same.

If you have yet to see Sandler and Andy Samberg’s “That’s My Boy,” you’ll get the chance to right your wrong when the movie hits Blu-ray and DVD with UltraViolet this coming fall. MTV News can exclusively report that the film’s home video release is slated for October 16, with a slew of bonus features tagging along for the ride. The Blu-ray and DVD release includes five deleted scenes, a gag reel (which you can peep in the video below) and three behind-the-scenes featurettes.

In the “Who Are All These People?” featurette, you’ll get an extensive who’s who of the many famous faces you’ll see in “That’s My Boy.” Celebrities like Vanilla Ice and Ciara are already well-known members of the cast list, but there’s a whole host of other unexpected cameos from the likes of … well, it’s best if you just watch the movie and let the surprises speak for themselves, isn’t it?

Two other featurettes, “Greetings from Cape Cod” and “Classy Rick’s Bacon and Leggs,” highlight two of the major locations seen in the Sandler/Samberg comedy. Much of the film takes place on the Cape as Samberg’s character Todd (actually named Han Solo, though no one in his immediate life knows his shameful secret) prepares to get married to the beautiful but controlling Jamie (played by Leighton Meester). But an equally important chunk of the movie centers on Bacon and Leggs, a raunchy strip club where Han Solo — sorry, Todd begins finding ways to forgive his father.

“Forgive his father for what,” you ask? In “That’s My Boy,” Sandler plays Donny Berger, a washed-up ’80s celebrity famous for fathering a child with his math teacher while still in his early teens. Donny did a commendable job as a single parent. How can one fault a dad who names their son Han Solo, feeds him nothing but cake and junk food, and allows him to get a New Kids on the Block tattoo that covers his entire back? Yeah, absolutely nothing for young Han to feel resentful over.

“That’s My Boy” hits Blu-ray and DVD on October 16.

Madonna’s Top NSFW Moments

When you build your career on constant shock-and-aw-nah-she-didn’t stunts, when it comes to something as mundane as flashing some skin, well, you can understand if we’re not freaking out.

But, even though she’s burned crosses, hitchhiked nude, simulated more sex on stage than most of us will ever have in real life and pissed off the Vatican for decades, people could not get enough of Madonna’s latest attempts at outrage over the past week.

After first exposing her nipple
during a show in Istanbul, the 53-year-old pop icon dropped trou and gave fans in Rome a shot of her taught, toned full moon
, leaving some to wonder: what’s next?
It was just the latest in a career-long series of outrageous moments that have helped Madonna grab headlines and eyeballs for more than three decades. Here’s a look at five of Madonna’s most controversial career escapades.

Molly folly: At March’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami Madonna drew the ire of EDM star deadmau5
when she asked the crowd if they had “seen Molly” The seeming wink-wink nod to the drug ecstasy angered Deadmau5, who slammed the singer for seemingly promoting drug use.

Cross to bear: Though now a follower of the Jewish mystical sect of Kabbalah, Madonna was raised Catholic and has spent her career exorcising her religious demons. On her 2006 Confessions Tour she pissed off the Vatican when she spent time hanging from a mirror cross and wearing a crown of thorns during “Live to Tell.” Catholics were none too happy in 1989, either, when she sported stigmata and danced amid burning crosses in her “Like a Prayer” video.

Britney tonsil hockey: Just when you thought she had no outrage left in the tank, Madonna set tongues wagging once again in 2003 when she gave Britney Spears a long, tongue-filled open-mouth kiss.

F-bombs away!: Way before there were viral videos, Madge created an overnight must-see when she sat down with talk show host David Letterman, lit up a stogie and proceeded to drop the f-bomb more than a dozen times to the usually unflappable Letterman’s surprise.

Sex manual: She launched herself into international stardom in 1984 by rolling around on the MTV VMA stage in a wedding dress while singing “Like a Virgin,” filmed the not-safe-for-TV “Justify My Love” clip, simulated onstage masturbation on her 1990 Blond Ambition tour. But Madonna was just getting started and somehow caused jaws to drop even further in 1992 when she released the “Sex” book. The three-million-plus-selling softcore pornographic book featured copious amounts of SM play, tons of nudity and kinky shots of the singer with everyone from rappers Big Daddy Kane and Vanilla Ice to model Naomi Campbell and gay porn star Joey Stefano.

‘That’s My Boy’: The Reviews Are In!

If reviews of “That’s My Boy” make one thing clear, it’s this: Adam Sandler‘s return to hard-R-rated territory is gloriously grotesque. Whether or not that’s your cup of tea (or flaming bag of feces, for you “Billy Madison” fans) is another matter entirely.

Sandler shares leading-man duties with recent “Saturday Night Live” expat Andy Samberg in “That’s My Boy,” a comedy that puts the two in a father/son relationship despite the mere 12-year age gap between the comedians. The goofiness of the film’s premise pales in comparison to the gross-out gags and countless cameos found within the movie itself — a fact that has reviewers split down the middle. But the vast majority of “That’s My Boy” reviews agree that this is Sandler at his filthiest; a side of the comedian that fans haven’t seen in years, which should come as welcome news to those pining for the glory days of Happy Madison and Sandler’s early comedy albums.

Keep reading for a sampling of “That’s My Boy” reviews:

The Story
“The movie begins at full regression, with the younger version of Sandler’s character, Donny Berger, seduced by his Mary Kay Letourneau-like math teacher (Eva Amurri Martino, looking like Amy Fisher). After their tryst is exposed at an assembly with the message ‘some have greatness thrust upon them,’ Donny montage-morphs into a celebutard with his own book (Head in the Class) and TV movie. Decades later, to pay off the IRS, he’s enjoined to engineer a TV reunion featuring the estranged, Xanax-popping, spare-underwear-carrying product of this outrageously inappropriate union, a hedge-fund manager (Andy Samberg) who’s changed his name to Todd Peterson (birth name: Han Solo Berger) and is about to marry a possible gold-digger (Leighton Meester) on a tony New England estate.” — Ben Kenigsberg, Time Out Chicago

Heartstrings, Hugs and Hurls
“It’s my job to offer you that plot summary, and I apologize because it’s an icky premise for a comedy. I must also report that ‘Boy’ gets way pervier — you can’t unhear some of the stuff that’s involved here. Weirdly, though, there’s an undercurrent of sweetness in the film’s father/son reconciliation theme. It contrasts surprisingly well with the escalating cascade of gross humor, which could be summed up as: fountain of urine, inappropriate masturbation, nakedness in public and ‘What is Vanilla Ice doing in my room?’ ” — Chris Hewitt, Pioneer Press

Hard-R Territory
” ‘That’s My Boy’ is Sandler’s raunchiest movie — its approach to sex is enthusiastic and juvenile and the opposite of the squeamishness of ‘Bucky Larson.’ Three-ways are had with grandmothers, wedding dresses are defiled, sticky post-masturbatory tissues are flung everywhere and a late twist takes the film into what has to be new territory for a gross-out comedy.” — Alison Willmore, Movieline.com

Samberg Unbound
“The truth is, even without pleasant surprises like Vanilla Ice and [Milo] Ventimiglia, I’m not sure I could ever truly hate a movie that features so much of the adorable Andy Samberg, who acts his little heart out as if this were Shakespeare in the Park. Having the past and present ‘Saturday Night Live’ cast members play father and son was a stroke of genius. I don’t know if director Sean Anders (who co-wrote the deliriously stupid ‘Hot Tub Time Machine’) was directly responsible, but he certainly was lucky. Samberg plays Todd as a sort of manchild, as fresh as a daisy, as affable as a puppy. Compared to Sandler’s Donny, who needs to be bathed, then fumigated, he’s practically dewy. His chin dimple has never seemed so akin to a baby’s bottom.” — Mary Pols, Time

Final Verdict
“The gauge to any humor is whether or not it tickles your fragile funny bone, and in this regard, ‘That’s My Boy’ succeeds. It’s a gangly guilty pleasure experience that makes you feel foul for enjoying its obvious, out of control bravado. Sandler is terrific as the tacky center of attention and even with a bloated belly and bad mat of monkey fur hair-do, he’s winning. Yes, some of the jokes fall very flat indeed and there’s more F-bombs than in a Scorsese gangster flick, but the end result is genuine. Indeed, Sandler, more than anyone, has been guilty of turning the big screen comedy into a premise with no pay-off. ‘That’s My Boy’ promises things you hope it won’t deliver. When it does, you’ll be ashamed of your reaction, but happy that Sandler has returned to his randy roots.” — Bill Gibron, Pop Matters

Five Reasons To See Adam Sandler’s ‘That’s My Boy’

155af thatsmyboy Five Reasons To See Adam Sandlers Thats My Boy

The reviews have not been kind on “That’s My Boy,” Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg’s raunchfest hitting theaters today (June 15). It boasts an absurd premise — an adolescent knocks up his math teacher and is left to raise their son, Han Solo, to disastrous results — and more F-bombs than any movie should rightfully have.

But despite myself, I couldn’t help but enjoy the hell out of Sandler’s latest. It feels like a return to form for the comedian, a callback to all the outrageous potty humor that made him famous in the first place. If his “Billy Madison” and “Happy Gilmore” antics were never for you, then you’re not going to find much to enjoy here. But if those movies are staples of your comedy-viewing history, then “That’s My Boy” undoubtedly has some guilty laughs in store for you. Here are five reasons to see the movie this weekend.

“What The Hell Happened To” Adam Sandler?
“Jack and Jill” this is not. “That’s My Boy” takes full advantage of its R rating. Boobs, booze and bad words are all over this comedy. Whether or not that’s your thing is a matter of personal taste, but fans of old school Sandler and his comedy albums should feel right at home here. No, there are no talking goats in this movie, but the over-the-top Donny Berger should make up for the oversight.

Andy Samberg, The Not So Lonely Island
The former “SNL” player gets second billing here, allowing him the chance to share lots of screen time with one of his comedy heroes. His enthusiasm is infectious. Samberg’s having lots of fun playing in the Sandbox and it shows. Wouldn’t you be having fun too if your name was Han Solo Berger?

A Little Donny Goes A Long Way
As much as Sandler and Samberg own the show, it’s the opening scenes with young Donny wooing his math teacher (or is it the other way around?) that stand out as some of the film’s funniest moments. It’s all a little too lewd to fill out an entire movie probably, but sign me up for wanting to see the further adventures of teenage Donny and the morbidly obese Han Solo.

The Unsung Hero
Actually, the film’s real scene-stealer isn’t who you would expect. It’s not Will Forte, it’s not Ciara, and it’s not Vanilla Ice, even though all of them have their moments to shine. It’s “Heroes” star Milo Ventimiglia as straight-laced marine Chad who comes out of “That’s My Boy” with the most unexpected comedy chops of them all. You wouldn’t think the erstwhile Peter Petrelli would be a big source of laughs, but trust me, he’s got the goods. The less said about his character’s late-game twist, the better. Trust me, his performance alone is worth the price of admission.

Cameos, Cameos, Cameos
We won’t list any of them. Suffice it to say, prison life has been very generous to Han Solo’s mother.

Vanilla Ice Starts Father’s Day Fire (Sale) To Celebrate ‘That’s My Boy’

A lot has happened since the days of Vanilla Ice and “Ice Ice Baby.” Parachute pants went out of style, most people don’t bleach single streaks in their hair, and Vanilla Ice doesn’t get quite as many endorsement deals as he used to.

That’s why Robert Van Winkle, as he’s known now, is hosting a fire sale to get rid of all the extra merchandise that he’s amassed over the years. Everything must go, and he stars in this brand new video commercial to tell you all about it.

The sale happens to be taking place right around the same time that Vanilla Ice is starring in the new Adam Sandler-Andy Samberg film, “That’s My Boy.” In the film, he plays himself and a friend of Sandler’s character, Donny.

‘That’s My Boy’ Pops All Of The Bottles

If there’s one thing that’s perfectly clear about Adam Sandler‘s character Donny in the new movie “That’s My Boy,” it’s that he knows how to party. And what’s a party without popping some bottles?

[ video unavailable on this device ]

This new preview for “That’s My Boy” cuts together all of the hardest partying from the upcoming comedy and makes for one wild sneak peek at the ridiculousness.

Naturally, there are more than a few bottles popped in the preview, and we get a brand new remix that mash up all of the occurrences of hard partying, beer cracking and Vanilla Ice-ing in one neat package.

“That’s My Boy” opens in theaters everywhere this Friday, June 15.

Fun.’s Movie Awards Set Has Jen Aniston, Channing Tatum Singing Along

We say it all the time around here, “stars, they’re just like us.” But if you found yourself nodding your head and singing along to Fun.’s irresistible breakout hit, “We Are Young,” during the band’s performance
at Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards, well, then you’re just like the stars.

Posted up in a tiny, crimson-lit cube and dressed in sharp white tuxedoes, the boys put as much emotion as possible into the tune (with an assist from Janelle Monáe) and the effect was infectious. Just like you were likely singing along at home, when the camera panned onto the star-studded audience it caught glimpses of Channing Tatum and wife Jenna Dewan bobbing their heads, Jennifer Aniston smiling and digging the tune and even “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart grooving in her seat.

As the crowd rhythmically clapped and sang along, rapper-turned-remodeler Vanilla Ice wasn’t immune, with a big smile plastered on his face as his head nodded along. Nor was “Harry Potter” star Emma Watson, who was singing, clapping and shaking her bum to the song’s towering chorus. Aniston was flanked by “Hunger Games”‘ Elizabeth Banks, who also wasn’t shy about her enthusiasm for the song of the summer.

One of the biggest smiles was plastered on the face of “Bridesmaids” and “Office” actress Ellie Kemper, who couldn’t hide her joyful ear-to-ear grin. Given the slow climb to near-ubiquity that mirrors other across-the-board smashes like “Hey Ya!” and “Crazy,” it’s no surprise that the audience was digging the song so hard.

See? We told you, the stars are just like us!

Jaw-dropping, heart-pounding, gut-busting moments galore. See what went down at the 21st annual MTV Movie Awards!

Emma Watson, Wiz Khalifa Tweet From Movie Awards

UNIVERSAL CITY, California — We’re glad we weren’t the only ones having a great time at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night. Some of our favorite celebrities in attendance took to Twitter to share with the world that MTV‘s annual celebration of film was just as fun in person as it was to watch on the small screen.

Following her presentation of the “Perks of Being a Wallflower” trailer and the “Harry Potter” wins for Best Cast and Best Hero, Emma Watson took to Twitter to thank the one group of people who have always stood behind her: her fans.

The performers of the night were also quick to share their excitement about performing on the Gibson Amphitheatre stage. Opening band Fun. tweeted that they “had a blast” at the MTV Movie Awards, and we bet they’re even more thrilled now that they know Vanilla Ice enjoyed their performance as well.

Janelle Monáe, who performed alongside Fun., thanked the band for allowing her to participate. “Thank you @ournameisfun for having me on The MTV Movie Awards!!!” she said. “Very fun! icon wink Emma Watson, Wiz Khalifa Tweet From Movie Awards Proud of you! icon smile Emma Watson, Wiz Khalifa Tweet From Movie Awards ” She then became the envy of many when she tweeted a picture alongside Johnny Depp.

Wiz Khalifa, who took the stage later during the Movie Awards, gave us a running commentary of the show from his seat. Following the debut of his song “Work Hard, Play Hard,” he tweeted, “Thnx Guys!!! I Shredded That Bitch icon smile Emma Watson, Wiz Khalifa Tweet From Movie Awards ,” and later added that he “made love to tha stage.” It was only later that he noticed, “Haha My Shirt Said Sex.” He also must have gotten a kick out of Charlie Sheen tweeting at him. Wiz’s fiance, Amber Rose, tweeted how proud she was of her “baby.”

“The Hunger Games” stars were psyched to dominate the MTV Movie Awards with four wins, but Elizabeth Banks was more excited about how she was “literally carried away” before she could thank her fans. Alexander Ludwig just couldn’t get over the fact that he had won his first Golden Popcorn (for Best Fight), tweeting, “the mtv awards…what a surreal night. can’t thank my fans enough. i definitely wouldn’t be here without u….peace.”

“The Twilight Saga” stars just had fun hanging out at the Movie Awards, especially since it’s basically their second home by now. “Thanks @thePaulMcDonald for documenting my ‘lowest’ moments. Get it? Lowest?” Nikki Reed tweeted along with a picture of her and Jackson Rathbone looking indignant about their lack of popcorn (edible, not Golden). Rathbone also tweeted up a storm from his Movie Awards seat.

And how can we forget our illustrious host? Russell Brand only tweeted one picture from his time on host duty, and it’s one of the cutest things we’ve seen in a while. “My highlight of the MTV Movie awards,” he wrote, along with a picture of him and his “nan” on the Movie Awards stage. All together now: Awwww.

Will Forte: ‘That’s My Boy’ Is Dirtier Than Previews Suggest

If you thought the exclusive clip of Adam Sandler’s “That’s My Boy” was dirty, you apparently haven’t seen anything yet. During the MTV Movie Awards‘ second annual Sneak Peek Week, the cast of the R-rated comedy sat down with Josh Horowitz to discuss the film, and Will Forte revealed that it’s a lot dirtier than the previews suggest.

[ video unavailable on this device ]

“That’s one of the tricky things about this movie,” he said. “It is a dirty movie. It’s a raunchy movie. If you’ve seen any previews for this movie you have no idea what it’s about. They have to take little five second swatches here and five seconds there. It is a dirty movie. I encourage people to go to a YouTube page where you can really get a sense for what it’s about.”

Horowitz, who already screened the film, mentioned a particularly “amazing” scene involving Milo Ventimiglia’s character—to which Vanilla Ice gave the actor a high five.

“It’s so weird that Ice just high fived him for it,” Andy Samberg chimed in.

The cast assured us we’ll be on the inside of this joke once we see the film. We’re not sure whether to be excited or nervous. But despite its dirty content, Forte adds that he had a great time working with Sandler.

“It was such a wonderful set because Adam, who’s also one of my comedy heroes, would just tell you exactly what he wants,” Forte said. “Then he’d let you discover some stuff on your own too and he’d just point you in the right direction. He was amazing to work with.”

Vanilla Ice Hints At ‘Ninja Turtles’ Involvement

There’s a lot happening within the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” universe that’s rubbed fans the wrong way. Chief among their grievances is a change to the Turtles’ origin: These heroes in a half-shell are no longer simply the mutated product of an ooze spill on some unwitting turtles — they’re now creatures from a different planet.

But there’s at least one carryover from the original film trilogy that should put a smile on fans’ faces: Vanilla Ice is back, back, baby … maybe.

MTV News caught up with the rapper during his Sneak Peek Week appearance for “That’s My Boy” ahead of Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards, and he teased that he may very well be involved with the Michael Bay-produced “Ninja Turtles” reboot.

“I can’t say anything,” Ice grinned when asked if he would be involved with the return of the Turtles. “I know that they’re not from the sewers now. They’re aliens now or something.”

Ice, who famously performed “Ninja Rap” in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze,” is a committed fan of Splinter’s reptilian warriors. Like, seriously committed, to the extent that he’s tattooed their likeness to his own shin.

“I don’t mess around,” he said of his “TMNT” pride. “I’m still a Ninja Turtles fan.”

And to that end, Ice said he’s very much interested in continuing his relationship with the fan-favorite franchise. Whether or not he’s actually involved with Bay’s planned reboot remains a mystery for now, but the rapper is wide open to the possibility at the very least.

“Absolutely,” he said when asked if he’d want to join in on the new-age “Turtles” fun. “I’d get a tattoo of it. I’d be all over that. Aliens, sewers, whatever: They’re still Ninja Turtles, and I’m a ninja, so I get in where I fit in.”
