Six films into any film series, the premise of the movies is going to seem a little stale. Even with a franchise as fun as “Fast & Furious,” you can’t help but start to think, “Cars? What else you got?”
The answer: How about a tank?
As a part of “MTV First: Fast & Furious 6,” we are debuting an exclusive look at the upcoming film, and we’re throwing in a 30-minute interview with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, and Michelle Rodriguez for good measure.
All of the action starts at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV and continues right here for the interview portion immediately after the clip!
A short teaser for “Riddick,” the third film staring Vin Diesel as the night vision badass from title, debuted earlier this year, but now the very first trailer has premiered on YouTube.
The trailer clues us in on the story this time around. A group of bounty hunters have shown up to collect Riddick’s head, but he doesn’t like that. The tone seems closer to “Pitch Black,” especially when it comes to the host of monsters that show up in the trailer.

Official synopsis:
In the film, the infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.
The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.
“Riddick” opens in theaters on September 6.
It has to be difficult for the stars of movies that don’t necessarily pay attention to the marketing to know what is and what isn’t a secret in the weeks before the release.
Take Michelle Rodriguez and “Fast and Furious 6” for example. Back in February, Ain’t It Cool News reported that they knew of a surprise cameo that would take place at the end of the movie and lead into the seventh installment.
Once the scoop hit, there wasn’t much more to it than a waiting game, but now that the cast of “Fast and Furious 6″ is making the press rounds, it was only a matter of time before someone asked. That’s exactly what DesdeHollywood did, and we got our answer from Rodriguez.

The outlet asked the actress what the surprise guest, Jason Statham, would bring to “Fast and Furious 7,” and Rodriguez did not play coy.
“Jason Statham, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, when you see these guys in a room you know they belong together,” she said. “You can see in their eyes that they have gone through a lot [...] I applaud Universal for getting him on-board!”
Well, there you have it. Hopefully there isn’t some of kind of repercussion from Universal because she spoiled their big surprised. What are they going to do? Fake kill Letty again? Or maybe they’ll actually kill her this time.
“Fast and Furious 6″ opens on May 24.
It always feels like overkill when a studio releases a large number of clips from a movie in anticipation of its impending release date, but that’s exactly what Universal Pictures has done with “Fast & Furious 6.” Fortunately this series has proved time and again that it doesn’t need a brilliant marketing strategy to get people in theaters.
All nine clips can be watched over at Coming Soon. Some show Vin Diesel‘s character Dom bringing the team back together to hunt down a new villain who might have a connection to the assumedly dead Letty, while others give us a taste of the badass character Gina Carano will bring to the film—she seems amazing. All in all, they’re pretty great teases for the new movie.
It’s no surprise that “Fast & Furious 6″ will be loaded with action, but what’s surprising here is just how few of these clips include any sort of car racing. That’s what the big action is supposed to be in the “Fast & Furious” franchise, right? Of course, Universal could just want to show off the many exciting actors here instead of giving away all the big stunt sequences, but we still expected more than two—admittedly awesome—race sequence among these nine clips. At least one of them does involve the tank, though.
These sneak peeks at least do show us some of the actors we’re most excited about seeing in this new movie. There’s Diesel and Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris, Dwayne Johnson and Carano, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez, and even one clip featuring Luke Evans‘ villain character Owen Shaw. Consider us on board with this new flick. “Fast & Furious 6″ comes out on May 24.

“We’re going to need cars. Make sure they’re fast.”
Those are the words that could really only come from one film franchise going today. “Fast & Furious 6″ premiered a brand new piece of video during the 2013 MTV Movie Awards and delivered exactly what we hope for from the racing series.
Dom and the crew are back for another trip around the globe. This time, they’re hunting down an international thief and hoping to clear their wrap sheets once and for all. “Fast & Furious 6″ stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jordana Brewster, and Michelle Rodriguez.
When the cast presented the clip on-stage at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, Diesel pointed out that it had been 11 years since he and Walker received the Best On-Screen Duo award for their work in the very first “The Fast and the Furious.”
“Fast & Furious 6″ opens on May 24.
Instead of progressing the “Fast and Furious” storyline in “Fast & Furious 6,” star Vin Diesel and director Justin Lin are actually taking the movie a step backwards. As Diesel explained in a new featurette for the movie, this new installment of the fan-favorite series will serve to introduce audiences to the real version of Michelle Rodriguez‘ character Letty.
“In some ways, this film is the origin story of Letty,” Diesel explained. Rodriguez added, “It will be interesting to see how you take up a character that — you have to watch it, I can’t really explain much without giving it away.”
As it turns out, Rodriguez was as in the dark about her character’s reappearance at the end of “Fast Five” as the rest of the world. But Diesel said the plan all along was to make sure Letty could have a triumphant return.
“Do you know Vin didn’t tell me that, that they added that thing at the ending of ‘Fast Five‘? He just wanted to surprise me about it. I didn’t find out until I went actually into the theater and saw it myself,” Rodriguez remembered. She added of where her character’s at when the movie begins, “She is on the wrong side of the tracks. She got mixed up with a crew of people in Europe that are doing heists and they’re pretty hardcore.”
“Fast & Furious 6″ is due out on May 24.
